How to make a German Star Radio Aerial in 1/32???

Post by PanzerArm » Mon Jan 09, 2012 11:17 am

Does anyone have any ideas how to make a Herman star radio aerial in 1/32? They look like this:

I think some thin brass rod, just thicker than wire would be the best bet, and then solder on the other lengths of rod to make the "star". The problem is I have no soldering iron, or the know-how to use it. I don't want to go the styrene route because I feel that would be way too fragile at that thickness.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Anyone feel like a quick soldering commission to make me one?

Dragon made a star aerial kit in 1/35 a whle back ago. it came with a couple of photoetched star aerials and a cone shaped form to mold the photoetch into the correct shape. I don't know if its still available, but you should be able to use it for 1/32 also.
