FOV LATEST REPAINTS

Post by graycap » Tue Oct 04, 2005 1:08 pm

In London a couple more of the 2005 FOv 1/32 repaints have turned up. The 250 half-track in Normandy markings for the the 12 SS Pz (I was hoping for a Wehrmacht unit like Panzer Lehr). With 4 crew in SS camo smocks. One of the figures is supporting a "walking wounded" comrade. The other repaint was the Zundapp Motor-bike and sidecar. Sand coloured with Luftwaffe plates with a paratroop crew circa 1944.

I like the sound of both of these. The paratroopers sound particularly interesting.

woot it has been sighted! I can't wait to get my hands on that halftrack, hoepfully it turns up over here soon.I'll have to buy the halftrack so i don't let FOV down after all my questions about it.
Whenever i see something screech across the room and latch onto a guy's neck while he screams trying to get it off, i have to laugh because ..what is that thing.

It's cool that F.O.V. finally added a casualty. Now only if they would include Ambulance trucks and vehicles plus some "Medical Units" as well, for both sides.

I saw most of the new stuff today.

The Panzer IV ausf G comes with the same figure as last year and not much else.

The PanzerIV ausf F is a more attractive package. It comes with a cool checkpoint and the two figures are wearing caps as opposed to last years berets.

The US halftrack has only 1 figure but i like his pose. Still another couple of figures included would have been better.

The Normandy Hanomag is a real standout. 4 figures as previously mentioned. Looks great and the guy in front of me picked up the last one!

The Wirbelwind has two figures to operate the guns. Really nice vehicle.

The UK Sherman looks great. Comes with a new commander that is superior to the Grant commander.

At the weekend i bought the Grant and the Challenger2. As is usual for FOV both are very nice pieces. The Chally certainly looks fantastic but i found it surprisingly light for it's huge size. Only the chassis is metal the turret and the sides are plastic. I've also noticed with both tanks that only the hatches open. There are no other engine compartments to open. Also all the spades, wrenches etc are now molded onto the tank. I always enjoyed putting those things on.

If only they would modify the Tiger I w/opening hatches in the hull to put figures in too !........and have engine access to the jeep so you can look under the hood,as well as the half-track,as to simulate engine trouble w/hood-up position in a diarama. 21st.,made a half-track like that.
