Hachette Collection Japanese Warbirds

Post by Epap » Wed Oct 27, 2010 3:42 pm

I first learned of this series of diecast models on this site, so it's only fair that I share pictures of those I have collected so far. These are distributed by Hachette Collections Japan only in Japan---mostly via bookstores----but can be ordered by Japanese overseas bookstores that are willing to make the effort for their customers. The models come in three scales---1:87 for fighters; 1:100 for intermediate types like a Kate; and 1:120th for larger planes such as a Sally. They are finely detailed, well painted replicas that usually come packaged with booklets about the plane in question. They aren't perfect, being of fairly light construction, with occasional errors in the markings and rather unstable stands. Though these models come in the "wheels up" mode only---with obvious exceptions like the Nate or Claude----they do have pilot/crew figures. All in all, I'm glad I made the effort to acquire these models. Here are some pictures:Image

I like the F1M, Ki 27, and Ki 67..don't see a early Hayabusa(Oscar) with the 2 blade prop for the IJA Air Force.

An early Oscar is in the top row of the second picture, Panzer.

ah the Red Striped tail.

I'd snatch the F1M up if it was 1/72,

Btw, are you browsing 1/72 armour on Ebay? I'm watching something with a bidder E**P..just wondering.

Yet another great collection, Ed.

Always enjoy seeing you post these shots. Simply amazing the amount of aircraft you have aquired.

These must be fairly hard to come by? Given the source. Haven't really searched for them, but they certainly do a large amount of Japanese warbirds. I would imagine that Hachette produce the largest number of Japanese planes?
