Rarest 1:32 21st Century Toys planes

Post by Berkut » Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:18 am

Hi,

Have around 20 1:32 planes and was wondering what they are worth.

Does someone know what the absolute rarest 1:32 planes are?

Thanks!

As 21c no longer exists, a lot of the 32x aircraft are getting harder to find in general, save for some of the Zeros, Macchis, and Bf-109F/Gs still hanging around at a small retailer or two. Here's a few rare ones for starters:

"Galland" ME-109E
"Sky Captain" P-40 (Yes, there was one in 32X!)
"Double Nuthin" retooled P-51D
"Black 2" FW-190F
"Devil Dogs" Corsair
"Bullfrog" and "Shangri la" P-51B/Cs
Spitfire
...and there are a few others.

In general, it seems that the 32x Corsairs, Stukas, Spitfires, P-51B/Cs, P-51Ds, and the FW-190 A/Fs are getting to be the hardest to find.

I just listed one on ebay in case anyone here might be interested. I have only two 32X Corsairs left in my collection, the other is a "Jolly Rogers" which is my fave and I'm hanging on to it.

The black P-47 usually will end in the $30 range give or take a few.

I have seen the Brit Corsair end from the $100 range to around $40. They don't come up that often. I know I played hell trying to get one because everybody was bidding on them. It was the last Corsair put out by 21st. I don't know what that has to do with rarity as most editions have 5000, it says so on the box, but it seems they are rarer these days though.

I finally nailed one on a weekday in the $40 range on ebay. I think that's the exception though rather than the rule.
You can do a search on ebay for 32X Corsairs now and you'll find the "Devil Dogs" like everyone here says is going the highest, but you won't even find a 32X Brit Corsair. (always plenty of 1:18 ones it seems though)
I couldn't even find one in completed auctions. This is the problem I had when trying to get the last Corsair I was missing, the Brit one.

If it aint on there, you put it on there, chances are people will fight over it is my guess.

Thanks Dauntless! Think you're right. They all seem to be rare. I just checked auctions and there are many Eileen ones right now? Do you also know the value of these 2 P47?

I seem to remember that "Evie" sitting around on the shelves for a while and not being high on the list of hard to finds, but like tman said since 21st no longer exists they are all getting rare.

If you notice at auction the 32X planes are the only ones people are bidding on because all the 1:18 P-47's are priced way out of the ballpark.

"Eileen" has been shown in the past to command a higher price than all the other Thunderbolts. I would think the "Eagleston" would too but lately they are going for reasonable buyer prices. Good for us collectors. I'm still missing a couple 47's.

There's one of each of Eileen and Eagleston on there now you might watch to get an idea. I would think the closer to the holidays the more people will be bidding, the higher they go. But then a crowded market also brings the prices down. It's a fickle thing that's hard to get a handle on the "what it's worth" thing. Lucky for me I don't have to fight over those as I got them a while back.
