IBALLDRIVER:

I've got the Franklin Mint B-17 Carolina Moon, Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle, Corgi B-24 Jerk's Natural, Corgi B-24 Dragon and His Tail and Corgi Lancaster Dambusters.
To me, the only advantage the Franklin Mint bomber has over Corgi is size. The FM doesn't have a lot of detail, no pilots and fixed landing gear. The Corgi bombers are a little better on detail, have two-way landing gear and have pilots.
The big reason I got the Carolina Moon was price---I paid around $40 plus dollars for a new one on ebay.

Also, I've got two Corgi 1/144 B-52s and a third on the way. The B-52s in the Vietnam paint scheme look cool. The third one is in the two-tone blue scheme with cruise missiles.

IBALLDRIVER:

The more I think about it, I'm probably mistaken about the price on Carolina Moon---maybe it was in the $60-$70 range.
I paid $40+ for the B-24 Dragon and His Tail
I paid $120+ for the B-17 Memphis Belle.
I paid $112 for the Lancaster
I paid $77 for the first B-52
I paid $47 for the second B-52.
I paid $57 for the third B-52.

I'll check on the price for The Carolina Moon when I get home.

PS----Corgi is rereleasing an improved B-17 Memphis Belle. I think it has weathering and maybe some fuselage changes. It's going for around $125 or so at the Flyingmule.

I paid $47 for the B-17 Carolina Moon---that's a pretty good deal.

As Dragon53 has said earlier, the only advantage Franklin Mint has is its sheer size, and weight.

The Corgi 1/72 versions are much better, but can be expensive depending on the scheme.

There is a rerelease of Memphis Belle coming in a couple of months.$125 IIRC.

Check out the Corgi line up at Tricatus.

IBALLDRIVER:

I just bought a Corgi B-17 "Bit O Lace" on ebay. It was $135 plus shipping. That price hurts, but I've been looking for one for a long time.
