ixo 1/72 planes......optional gear position?

Post by aferguson » Mon Apr 05, 2010 9:43 am

Do ixo 1/72 planes have the option of having the landing gear up? What are the overall impressions of this series of aircraft? Do they ever do repaints....i don't like many of their choices for schemes.

Some do and some don't from what I can tell. The Hs 129 has the option of up or down..but others are fixed from what the sellers say.

I guess it's hit or miss with the line.

Some do and some do not. I've found their landing gear to be a little on the weak side and they are more simplistic in construction versus the landing gear on Corgi, Hobbymaster, Dragon, and even the FOV 1:72 planes. The gear struts will be plastic, whereas they are metal on some of the other brands.

IXO does make some very interesting diecast aircraft and I have several, but I like the quality of some of the brands listed above better.

I have collected all or most of the 1/72 IXO aircraft and Yes, they do have the optional up/down gear. A few of the planes were offered in repaint schemes and are pretty rare since they were only offered in limited quantities.
The IXO 1/144 bombers did not have the gear option.
