Comparison of various 1/144 models

Post by Philip » Wed Aug 17, 2005 6:01 pm

How do the Takara, Popy, and Pegasus models, 1/144, stack up against the Cando 1/144 models. I would like to purchase some of these for diorama purposes, but only if they are the quality of the Cando tanks.

IMHO -

Can't beat the Can-Do paint-jobs!

The Popy's are purely poopy.

Some of the Takara's are awesome. Their JagdTiger isn't as nicely painted as the Can-Do, but is vastly better detailed/built. Just live with the plain-jane paint job.

The Pegasus offerings are simple re-boxing's of Trumpeter's 1/144th model kits (as opposed to pre-paints). These Trumpy model kits are gems compared to Dragon's PanzerKorp "kits".

OTOH, some of the Trumpy pre-painted blister packed vehicles are a bit iffy. Their T5x and T72 tanks are passable, their Leclerc is nice, but is purposely "missing" a turret hatch! Their German half-trax are very nice too.
