Buy It Now prices are starting to get crazy
Guy selling a Cold Steel Panzer III - check that BIN price:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... SS:US:1123
My bet is either it gets relisted in 30 days or he drops the BIN in about half that time.

Here's one bidding for a more reasonable amount:

This wasn't a BIN but it's an example of how some items from the now defunct 21st line are fetching some jaw dropping prices. I watched this auction, and It cost the winning bidder over $70 to bring this thing home, and that's over 4 times what it retailed for in my estimation...
This scheme was never available at my local WM, but I imagine it was elsewhere, and I don't recall it being rare or anything, but I'm not certain of that.

It's not bent, it's the ultra rare one-of-a-kind 21st Panzer III with a "Krumlauf" tank gun designed for shooting into foxholes...Did ya notice the BENT gun barrel on this Mint tank?LOL

Actually, I'm to blame for the Panzer III Africa Korps prices. I listed ten duplicate 32x pieces last week in an effort to start reclaiming some closet space. Among them were the tan and gray Africa Korps Panzer IIIs. (The tan sold for $97 while the gray sold for $62.) Heck, I even had the green camo Panzer III sell for $51. All were loose/mint with crew. Of course, when someone sees something they have sell that well, he busts out his digital and lists his immediately. So, these recent prices are probably not that bad! (and some of you are looking good with your 21c "investments" because they are on the rise!)

I never saw the 1/32 "Eileen" P-47 at retail either, or I would have bought it.ostketten wrote:This wasn't a BIN but it's an example of how some items from the now defunct 21st line are fetching some jaw dropping prices. I had to hunt mine down at an online store a little more than a year ago. Thanks to a tip from a fellow SSHQ member. Of course thats when they were barely available. Managed to get the "Eagleston" a while ago on ebay when they were reasonable.
I'm still missing a few of the P-47's like "Angie" "Tarheel Hal" and "Snortin' Bull" though.

My local WM had several of "Hal", but I passed because I didn't particularly care for the scheme, wish now I had salted a few of em' away though...I'm still missing a few of the P-47's like "Angie" "Tarheel Hal" and "Snortin' Bull" though.

I'll have to check out Aikens again, though last time I tried to get a Brit Corsair they showed them in stock forever, then when I ordered one, they e-mail me and say they're out of them.ostketten wrote:My local WM had several of "Hal", but I passed because I didn't particularly care for the scheme, wish now I had salted a few of em' away though...I'm still missing a few of the P-47's like "Angie" "Tarheel Hal" and "Snortin' Bull" though. All three you listed are still available on ebay or online at Aikens, who BTW has a free shipping deal going on right now, but be prepared to spend about triple what they sold for at WM...
The Schilling P-47 is the one I really want, Col. Schilling was both deputy commander and CO of the famed 56th FG (Zemke's Wolfpack), and ended the war as one of the top aces in the 8th Air Force, and the scheme to me is one of the most attractive overall non-natural metal finishes on a 21st P-47.

The Schilling P-47 is almost impossible to find in the single pack and uber-rare, but the same plane is available in the Dogfight 2-pk with the FW-190D. They come up on ebay from time to time and aren't as pricey as the Corsair-Zero one. That's the the Schilling I got at Walmart for $29 a while ago.
The Lanowski P-47 (which isn't in the database yet) is pretty cool too with the flat black fuselage. I tend to like better the ones with some camouflage paint on them myself.
That Tarheel Hal looks like a clown's airshow plane. It's almost hard to believe it flew in actual combat. Like the Germans when they saw it probably thought "Well who do you think you are Mr. Fancy Paint." it's gaudy

Whoops
I remember seeing a single plane boxed "Schilling" in an ebay store as a buy it now for $49 a couple of months ago. It was there for quite a while. Checked again for it just now, and it's gone.
Understandable with the 32X fever lately, and the prices escalating, it was probably considered a good deal these days to someone.

Dauntless I think this may be the one you saw. I have purchased from him long ago before prices sky-rocketed. He is fairly high but is actually a very reliable seller.Dauntless wrote:Whoops

About the same with me Slade. I only ran across them at 1 WM in my area. Out of 8 they had stocked, only found 2 that were without defects in paint or broken parts. Got both plus 2 extra for customs where paint was not a issue and a good WM price. With the rising price of the 1/32 line of A/C, I am now glad I went ahead and purchased them as it makes a custom project very reasonable in cost.[CAT]CplSlade wrote:I wanted a Hal, but every single one I found in my area had really bad smudges in the cowling and tail, which totally ruined the gaudy scheme.
