shouldn't the panzer iv be russia '43? They weren't using dark yellow in '42.

And you'd think they'd pick an elefant for their picture with straighter road wheels.....the third one is angled pretty badly.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

In April of 1943 was the change to Dunkelgelb as the base color, like in late 44/45 the order came for Olivgrun then later again for the red oxide to become the base color.

The Sand or Dark yellow paints existed before the order to switch from Panzergrau to Dunkelgelb were ordered.
In addition, starting in spring of 1942, vehicles used in the southern parts of Russia, were often applied with tropical camouflage, similar or identical to those used in North Africa. In March of 1942, both colours used in North Africa were replaced by brown (dark sand) (RAL 8020) and dark (panzer) grey (RAL 7021). Brown was to be used to cover 75% of the vehicle and dark grey the rest.
In March of 1941, it ordered that vehicles in and destined for North Africa were to be painted in yellow brown/sand yellow (RAL 8000) as a base colour with grey green (RAL 7008)
IIRC, the Pz IV isn't grey/dunkelgelb..it's Afrika grunbrown '41(not sure of the RAL offhand for it)...comparing it to MM's paintlist..least that's what i used for it on 15mm Pz IV F2s w/ added flesh and white to adjust it. In the bottle it looks more mustard brown(Like Spicey mustard) but against the dark grey it come as a more greenish-yellow and then you add the weathering which subdues it more. I'll have to see if the guy I painted the platoon for will send me some photos of it.
