Carousel also released WWI planes. They were of great quality, but patterned after fictional planes from the movie Flyboys. They were more pricey than the Corgi aircraft, but now that Carousel has gone under, you may be able to get some cheaper - if you can find them.
In terms of other WWI planes, the Model Power company makes some for their Postage Stamp line of small diecast aircraft. They look good, but lack some of the finer details, especially in the cockpit area. The scales are also kind of funny with some planes being 1:70 scale and others 1:63.
Matchbox also made a couple 1:48 scale WWI planes. These were sold at mass retail several years ago. Quality-wise, they are nearly as good as the Corgi ones (though they lack some of the fine details). They retailed at about $15, but are harder to find now and may cost anywhere between $30 and $50.

Tman beat me to the post but I concur with him. The Corgi 1:48 models are pretty decent. I have a number of them and they well made and fairly detailed. They have many paint schemes limited to a few actual plane types. I dont know how many Fokker Triplanes or Albatroses you may want. I actually got back into building some of the old Aurora/Monogram 1:48 kits to get some variety in my collection including eindekkers and Gotha bombers.
The Carousel line seems comparable to the Corgi planes and they seem to be in the same price range. Carousel also offers some of the "Flyboys" versions and they may not really be historically correct but they are representative of what was used during the war.

TMAN, Carousel has a historical line of WWI planes. Red Baron,Udet and others. i believe a step up in quality from Corgi. Carousel is also on sale now. so you can get them at wholesale prices right now.

KRIEGLOK:
When I was a kid I had some of the Aurora 1/48 WW I planes: SE5A, Sopwith Camel, SPAD XIII and Nieuports 17 and 28. They were pretty good models compared to the rest of Aurora's planes. I have the Corgi SE5A-Billy Bishop and the SPAD-Rickenbacker. I was very disappointed in the Corgi SE5A (gloss finish on a fabric plane is a cardinal sin, bent pitot tube from the defective mold), but the SPAD was better.
I also had a beautiful big-scale Revell William Barker Sopwith Camel so I'm hoping Admiral eventually will release their 1/18 Camel in the William Barker paint scheme-----I'm hoping.
