Who Has 21st's 32X Molds Now?
With JSI buying up some of the XD molds from 21st Century Toys, I'm wondering if they or anyone bought up the 32X stuff?
Were they the manufacturer of some of the 1:32 scale models for 21'st?
While some of the early stuff I really don't see any point in re-releasing, but some of the later molds were outstanding like the FW-190A and the redone P-51D, P-51 B/C, the Opel trucks, Panther tanks etc.

Its interesting that nobody in this forum seems interested at all that JSI is apparently releasing items from molds which were formerly released by 21st Century. As I understand it Dauntless, JSI possibly owned the molds to start with. That has been stated but is still a little unclear. It would stand to reason that if they did, they probably have access to the 1/32 molds also. I realize that 21st's releases were not as detailed as FOV, but then again, they were about half the price of FOV's most recent releases. Not a lot of releases recently from 21st in the armor area, but lots of pretty nice planes.

I guess most of the 1:32 crowd didn't look at the news threads over at the 1:18 section, the 1:18 forum has been flooded with JSI threads for while now.
Anyways here's a bunch of links, I might have missed a few...
Official company website:
http://jsitoys.com/
Merit, the distributor for JSI in North America has a little catalog of what's coming for 1:18.

Sounds logical that they would have the 32X molds too, by the way you explain it.hotrodrock wrote:Its interesting that nobody in this forum seems interested at all that JSI is apparently releasing items from molds which were formerly released by 21st Century. Yeah, I've been reading the 1:18 forums, I collect XD as well, no mention of the 32X molds in there, or on the links, hence the speculation here.

I just finished looking at all of the threads here in the 1/32 section and I see nothing about JSI. What dozen threads?[CAT]CplSlade wrote:Yeah, there's only been about a dozen threads discussing JSI so far. Most, if not all, of the JSI talk has been on the 1:18 Scale Forum.
I noticed they're releasing a 1:18 F-14.
What are the odds we'll see a 1/32 F-14 in the near future?
That would be a nice follow-up to BBI's F-4.
I would be interested to know who the keeper of 1/32 molds are as well.
I agree with Dauntless that there are a lot of repaints that could be made from the latest 21C issues (ie FW-190A/F, P-51D, P-51 B/C, and Spitfire)

By this forum I meant the entire forum, not just 1/32. But I see now what you were driving at exactly.hotrodrock wrote:I just finished looking at all of the threads here in the 1/32 section and I see nothing about JSI. I'm a 1/32 collector myself, but I frequent all the sub-forums as you never know what interesting info you may pick up.
Wow...
Very interesting...
I am one of those who generally doesn't read the 1:18 forum, so this was all new to me. I am interested to see if this outfit re-releases the 1/32 stuff also. It would be NICE if they had some of the development material for things that 21C intended but never released such as the Dodge 6X6 truck, Grant tank, and infantry heavy weapons sets that were all shown as prototypes but were never produced. Sorry not to mention planes but I am a "tankie" - I don't have the room or much inclination to get the planes.
Please keep us informed of any further news.

The 1:18 forum is flooded with JSI threads. Currently an Israeli F-15 Eagle and Chinese SU-27 Flanker is on its way to 1:18 scale.binder001 wrote:Very interesting...

Speaking of the 1:32 molds, what would that leave the 1:48s and 1:144s? Would they be automatically lumped in with the 1:32s (since they are basically scaled down models) or are they separate property belonging to New Millenium Toys?

Re: Wow...
New Millenium Toys IS or rather WAS 21st Century toys under the Walmart brand (replaced motorworx), just like 4-Star Military toys was for Target.

old molds + new company = new repaints and hope for more Mustangs and Spitfires.
By the way, how hard or expensive is it for another company to remove the logos from a mold? Hasbro has done it with old Kenner molds...

I have checked around and there is no word on where the 1/32 went or who owns them now. Most manufacturers that might have been a player aren't going anywhere until the economy picks back up. ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

1:32 Molds
Hello,
Its entirely possible that 21st still owns these molds and hasnt sold them off as yet for whatever reason. Or, it could be a case where the new owner isnt prepared as yet to indicate that they are in possession of the molds, particularly if they're looking to rebrand the series under a new name. Its too early to say what will happen to these molds given the current state of flux in the economy and time horizon for their reemergence...

Just in case you guys haven't seen it on the 1:18 board yet, there are new developments for JSI, their other website list more 1:18 aircraft and vehicles that have been acquired by JSI. They've also acquired some 1:18 figures and 1:144 vehicles now.
JSI's news section shows some packaging pics of the 1:18 Tiger, P-38, and M16MGMC, and as well as more upclose non-model pics of the rest of their products at the Hong Kong Toys & Game Fair on the "More image" link.
