Does anybody make a good 1:32 F-15?

Post by snake » Mon May 04, 2009 1:29 am

Does anyone know of any manufacturers that do a 1:32 F-15,or F-14?
I have them in 1:48,Franklin Mint.Not bad,but not great.
Never going to happen in 1:18,so 1:32 is the next best choice.
Anybody have any info?

SNAKE:

I have the Dragon 1/72 F-15C "Gorillas", the Dragon 1/72 F-15E "Mad Duck" and the Franklin Mint 1/48 F-15E "Dragon Betty II"---I like the Gorillas the best of all. I was hoping BBI would release a 1/32 F-15C to follow the 1/32 F-4J, but that appears unlikely---so I bought the Gorillas a month ago.
I'm not aware of anyone releasing a 1/32 F-15 or F-14.

I know that Revell did a 1/32nd F14 because one of my sons had one. I'm pretty sure that the F15 has been kitted in 1/32nd as well.

I assumed Snake was talking about a preassembled F-15 or F-14...maybe I'm wrong about that.

Revell in the past has made an F14, F15 and F16 in 1/32. I'm unaware of any die cast. If there was 1/32 die cast for these planes I'm sure they'd be expensive...

I understood that part of the question, but, if one wants an item enough one can either assemble a kit or pay someone to do it. Otherwise you can wait for a manufacturer to put one out. I believe in expanding options.

Now,now boys.
I wanted to know about a pre-assembled,diecast model.I put up this post to see if anyone had any info.in regards to this.
As an ex modeller,I find the diecast to be excellent value. Some are better than others.
I do not have any of my old equipment any more,or the room to set up an airbrush station.
So diecast is perfect for me.
I have built a couple of 1:48 F-15 kits in the past. They were either Tamiya,or Hasegawa.Turned out really nice!
F-15 is my favourite plane, and would be really nice if there was a larger scale than 1:48 available,in pre assembled form.
Any other good F-15 models that you guys have?

There's a market right there in plastic pre-assembled pre-painted 1:32 F-15's.

I was hoping BBI would start turning out more 1:32 Jets like the Phantom which I have, but we can't even get a re-paint of that yet.

A 1:32 die cast plane is pretty hefty like Hobby Masters and Corgi's. I imagine a jet would be more so, though a Falcon is not a huge jet.

A few to several years ago Walmart carried die cast aircraft. One of the planes was an F15. They also made the P51 and the Huey, which were 1/32. They made a P38 and some other jets. The P38 I believe was 1/40 scale. I can still picture the boxes but I can't recall the manufacturer. I believe thee was a Cobra. Sadly there were all different scales. They weren't very detailed.

A 1:32 Huey peaks my interest.

Never seen one, and if I did I would prolly buy it.
