Dragon 1/35
I know this has been discussed over and over, but I had a hard time finding any information through search.
Basically, I like what I am seeing from the pre-built models and am wondering about the quaility.
Also, how do they compare to other products; i collect FOV and 21st. \
I am looking at the North Africa tiger1; i think it looks good.
thanks for any and all help

Re: Dragon 1/35
The ones I've seen are really nice. It probably comes down to personal preference. In fairness, it's probably important to note we're comparing apples to oranges. A $15 21c Tiger at wm to a $75 Dragon Tiger. I got disillusioned with the 1/32 quickly because of quality control on those $15 tanks (less than what most 1/72 scale tanks are selling for now). The Dragon tanks are significanty better IMO. Whether they're $60 better is up to the individual and their budget. I'm going to have to get one of them some time soon.NHoggard12 wrote:I know this has been discussed over and over, but I had a hard time finding any information through search.

Don't know if you've given it any thought or if it even matters to you, but 1/32 and 1/35 don't mix and match too well when close together. I started looking for an alternative to 21st and FOV in the unbuilt kits and found that you can see some pretty obvious size differential (a Tiger in 1/35 is about an inch shorter than in 1/32 - too glaring for my tastes). It really stinks too after seeing some of the awesome kits out there. I have gone and purchased some Dragon figure sets as they actually pass as guys around 5'6" compared to 21st figures. Used together on a single piece or mixed with the taller boys and they work okay. Got myself a crew for my 88mm and a full Panzer crew as well. But what I'm trying to say is, if size matters to you then 1/35 isn't your answer.
IRT Dragon's quality is better than the other two, but then you are paying for it.

Exactly.. Dragon 1/35 are prebuilt, VERY ACCURATE models. These are almost on museum quality model level and would put 21st/FOV diecast to shame.[CAT]CplSlade wrote: IRT Dragon's quality is better than the other two, but then you are paying for it.

I have them all! i really like the Dragon 1/35 armor. the details are great i just wish they would expand the line into halftracks or a T-34. i also have the 1/35 figures which i think are far better than Fov or 21C. there are some good prices out there. I buy mine from rezzed collectibles on evilbay and he gives multiple item discounts very good dealer

I have the Dragon King Tiger-Porsche that I got on ebay for around $35. I've seen a few FOV 1/32 German and Russian tanks in Target and the Dragon Tiger is far superior. The crisp detailing on the Dragon is very impressive. For the price, around $80 msrp, Dragon should include a commander figure. Some don't like the Dragon being plastic, but it makes for better detailing. The Dragon price has kept me from buying more Dragon tanks.
Other impressive tanks I have include the FOV 1/16 Sherman, the Hobby Master 1/56 M1A1 Abrams (fantastic tank but too small at 1/56) and my pre-ordered FOV 1/16 Tiger I-Wittman.

Well NHoggard12,
you piqued my curiosity and I went out and bought one of the Dragon King Tigers today.
Haven't checked it out completely, but I'd guess the 21c has more working hatches, if that's important.
The Dragon King Tiger's cannon barrel seems to veer slightly to the left just enough to bug me. Just my random bad luck. Wish all manufacturers did better with aligning barrels. Doesn't seem to include an MG34 for the cupola.
Kind of want some spare tracks on the turret.
I feel like I'm being terribly unfair to compare them due to the price difference/target market and still applaud 21c for producing an affordable product (even if I felt the last few I purchased had more quality control issues). But, what the heck.
Comparing apples to oranges.
