Post by Stug45 » Wed Jan 14, 2009 5:46 am

Did 21st ever make a tiger tank in 1/32??

If so does anyone have pics?

Thanks.

Oh yeah... 21st absolutely made a Tiger in 32X, although I couldn't tell you how many different series (paints) they did, here are a couple I have in my collection..... the one on the left is an older (S1 perhaps...?) version, and the one on the right came from one of the "Iron Horse" dual packs I believe.

IIRC, there are only 3 versions of the Tiger I out. The S1 version was totally panzer gray, and Ostketten has pics of the other 2.

Harry's correct. The S2 matched the S2 armored car and halftrack yellow brown with fairly subdued red and green camo. The S3 was the Iron horse release with the yellow brown and striking brown camo (knight emblem included).

I've got the grey one, it's my favorite.

Of course I like the grey stuff the best all the way around in 1:32.

The S1 was the best. The S2 had a dark-yellow camo paint job but the main gun was slightly awry on many of them. An S3 version came out as well. The picture is earlier in this thread.

I still have an S1 version in the box. The S1 version is my favorite Tiger. When I think of a Tiger, that's the color scheme that comes to my mind....

Why..?? I'm just curious, I mean it's OK if you just prefer the grey, but panzer grey was only standard for about the first 6 months of the Tiger I's production history, so grey as the standard paint scheme represents a very small percentage of the total wartime production run on the Tiger I.

I guess I just prefer the gray. Can't explain it.
I have to say the Dragon Tiger colors are great and the overall paint jobs are excellent. Granted, they're alot more expensive too.... The FOV Tigers have better paint jobs too. If I have to give a reason for the gray, the gray, to me, looks more authentic. The S2 and S3, which I have, look too plastic/ toyish.

Damn. I came on board too late to get one of those. Plus I really don't care for the FOV Tigers at all.

Yes, I have to agree... the S3 "Iron Horse" version especially looks like it just rolled out of the paint shed, but it's nothing a skillfully applied weathering job wouldn't cure, but who has time for that... that's why we buy pre-painted models in the first place eh..??
