Up until now CW has been too rich for me, but do these things look as good in person as in the photos? I'm starting to think I am really missing out...

OLIFANT:

I have two Century Wings F-14 Tomcats and two A-6 Intruders. They are expensive but they are impressive.
I just pre-ordered the Century Wings 1/72 SR-71 and a Hobby Master F-4E Phantom II in Vietnam camouflage with shark-mouth nose.
The SR-71 is $125 and the F-4E is $49 but I got 10% off, free shipping and a free mini Airbus airliner for $156.

I like the Tomcat model but the panel lines are a bit much IMO. Reminds me of some Japanimation models where the panel lines are really dark and over emphasized.

It doesn't bother me too much, but yes, I agree, it is distracting on such small models. But they pull it off well on Century Wings, at least from the pictures I see. I have made a vow to not go into 1/72. As much as I would love to have F-100s, F-105s and A-6s, I can't start another scale and especially such an expensive one. I take back my statement from a few days ago, MOST 1/72 models are chunky looking. These, however, are not. These are beautiful.

But I think if BBI did a Tomcat in 1/32 it would just blow these out of the water. Mainly because of the presence. It would be huge. The details would be fantastic, and not only that, but you could actually read all of the warnings and labels without a magnifying glass. :) Although it amazes me they still get all of those tiny details on such a tiny scale.

I don't know, I think I could break my vow for some of these machines. Like the A-7, A-8, F-100, A-6, MiG-21, MiG-23, F-16, etc.

ALLOYSKULL:

I already have the BBI 1/32 F-4J and would love to have more 1/32 jets, but I buy 1/72 jets only because the plastic companies won't make more 1/32 jets.

I WAS ABLE TO SPEND SOME TIME IN CHICAGO WITH THE GUYS FROM FLYING MULE AND I WAS INVITED TO HAVE DINNER WITH THEM AND THE ENGINEER FOR CENTURY WINGS FROM JAPAN. THE SR-71 IS A FANTASTIC PIECE. ITS NICE TO SEE SOME LITTLE DONE PIECES IN 1/72. YOSHI GAVE ME THE FIRST PRODUCTION VMA-121 A-6 GREEN KNIGHTS (#0000)WHEN HE HEARED I WAS IN THAT SQUADRON WHEN I WAS IN THE CORPS. IT WAS A VERY COOL DINNER EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST. CENTURY WINGS HAS BIG PLANS FOR SOME GREAT FUTURE RELEASES. I WAS SWORN TO SILENCE!!!

Welcome to the forum American Grenadier! That's awesome you got to dine with some CW big whigs!! CW does make the best diecast jets on the market (add HobbyMaster to that too).

I know you're sworn to secrecy and all, but could you just give a tiny hint?

Blink 1 for yes; 2 for no.
Does Century Wings have plans to release "B" model and additional other "D" model F-14's?????
