Treasure or Scrap Metal? Need some ID Help!!

I was at the fleamarket sunday and in an old rusted coffee can, buried in a box of old rusted tools I found these.

They are WWI Doughboys?
They are three inches tall.
The figures themselfs are 70mm.
They are made of cast iron!

any help anyone can give me IDing these would be greatly apresiated.

I'm not that lucky. Most likely scrap.

I can view them just fine, but unfortunately I don't have a clue on the who/what/when/where. Do we have a toy soldier specialist in the house? If not you may wish to inquire at TSSD or one of the other toy soldier etailers.

Nice find anyway. They do look pre-1960s for sure.

I'd guess they would be quite old- looking like some I would dig up in old yards back in my metal detecting days- most would be broken off their lower stands. Of course, most of them had little paint left on 'em. If thats original paint that would be pretty unusual in and of itself. The lack of relative detail seems also customary for period toys. But then again, if they look that nice, they've been rapainted or are repos- most were thoroughly worn out- no video games or transformers to play with back then

Well, there's a set of them on ebay. Unfortunitly the seller knows about as much as I do about them.

One thing though. If his are repaints and mine are repaints. They were painted by the same person. They have the same colors and flaws.

They are South Korean GREY IRON soldiers of new mfg.They are painted crude and have a rough finish.Much unlike the original Grey Irons which have a very smooth finish.You see them being sold in lots of Flea Markets and on Ebay.I consider them worthless.

I can say for sure that they are not Barclay. They also do not match any Gray Iron figures that I've seen.

Do you know of a web page that shows "South Korean" Gray Iron toy soldiers?

I've done several searches, but can't find any.

Trust me,all I can say is they are Grey Iron re-pros,I don't think counterfeiters will have a website eh,LOL.

Not a treasure and not quite scrap metal.

I was out this morning and showed the figures to some antique dealers. I also heard back from Doug Drearth at Michigan Toy Soldier Company.

They are Korean reproductions of Grey Iron toys soldiers. Not that I didn't believe kuvaszsleepybear. I was just looking for some more information on them.

They were produced in the late fifties when Grey Iron first set up in Korea. Depending on who you ask, they are worth from one to four dollars each.

I'll keep a set and probably place the others up on ebay.
