Check out ebay, some guy just posted a whole slew of different retired sets (search with "King and Country or King & Country, the latter being more effective usually). Too bad no boxes on some, but still good stuff.
PS: I got dibs on all the German stuff so don't bid on it, lol.

That 88 set is a tough one for sure and will probably fetch $800, but I think that for being the hardest to find is the stug and even harder the winter kubelwagon.

It is great to see retired sets fetch so much particularly since I do have some. This since its good to know my K&C collecting although now a hobby could be viewed as an investment in the future. But to be honest the price the older retired sets go for is also ridiculous. The early sets when K&C was in its infancy so to speak, are not nearly as well sculpted as what he is producing today. With quality only in mind, I would rather spend that small fortune on the purchase of a whole series of excellently sculpted sets as K&C is producing today than concentrate my pocket book on just one.

I think what Victory is referring to are the early WS 5 thru about WS20. Those sculpts are definetly not the quality of the later stuff, but even the early sculpts are far better than Britains etc.
The early vehicles are also not on line with the current. He really made strides on those.
I too thought I would concentrate on the newer sets but once acquired, you have that urge to get it all, and that,s where you kick yourself for not getting retired sets when the cost for them was reasonable.
I currently am trying to get the retired Rev. War figures, so far I just paid retail for the figures I found and did so by checking all the K&C dealers.
As mentioned the hunt is part of the fun.

I agree gk.The winter Kubelwagon should fetch a pretty penny.I searched for two years for the 88 and then found two summers and one winter version with Gary's help.I scooped them up and also found three of the summer add on sets.The new 88 is much better in detail but I think the older winter version is the best in that series.
I think thats everyones dream is to stumble across a store with retired sets sitting there for the taking.I'm constantly stopping by antique stores waiting to find the K&C Winter Tiger with a $100 price tag on it.Brought in and being sold by someone with no clue as to its value.Like I said its a dream.Ha!
For you new collectors;if your pockets are deep then jump on those e-bay sets because I'm sure there are going to go pretty high even without boxes.
Vehicle wise you can say all you want about comparing FOV with K&C.Its like apples to oranges.A true collector would never think of mix matching the two.That sounds conceded but its just my opinion.I'm not rich by no means but wouldn't have the heart to just buy K&C fig's and FOV vehicles.Don't get me wrong and no offence to you FOV collectors, its a great product for the price and its all I can do not to start buying it myself but I have taken the plunge,made my desicion and am sticking with the K&C line.Its like the Colonel's chicken-addictive.That bastard Andy!!!

If you're still looking for retired American Revolutionary War figures have a look at Erik Meijer's Diecast International:

Unfortunately you need to search with the term "King and Country" as he removed the ampersand a few week's back on a revision of his site. Erik has AR02 through to AR10 and many of the retired AR20-somethings too. His 234 K&C sets are listed in roughly alphabetical order ie starting with American Revolution and finishing with Waffen SS.

The only one that I've found is the TW04 from http://www.unioncove.com
Also, I assume that the Vietnam series is impossible to find (except on ebay for ridiculous bids).

K&C The West
Go to the K&C Web Site and email all the U.S. dealers, I,m telling you it works.
I completed the West series last year doing that.
You might want to get a hold of Fullyautomatic I was just talking to him 2 days ago and he knew someone who was selling at retail the 2 VietNam Marine sets.
