FW-190 F-8 White 7

Post by RAD 2112 » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:19 pm

Just picked up mine @ the local WM.

WOW!

It's a very detailed plane with some nice options... Just be careful removing them from the sprue tree. (You'll see what I mean)
The paint job is spectacular.
It really makes the FW-190Ds look as if they were made by another company.

While removing the plane from the box, one of the cardboard flaps broke off one of the wing mounted cannons. Just my luck.
Oh well, I was already planning to replace both of them with some small piping/tubing.

I would definitely purchase another from the series.

Good Hunting!

I got this one from Badcat late in December. I agree that its a nice scheme! It looks very good with my Macchi 205 in the German markings. I agree with you in that the FW-190s almost look like the came from another company. If the 32x P-51B/C and P-51D are supposed to be top-of-the-line, the FW-190 is in another league. The wing cannon on my "White 7" also broke, so I pulled both out, shortened the barrels and reglued them. The plane looks alot better now!

Sounds great. Still no P-51D's or 190F's in this area however. Hell I just now found the Polish squadron RAF P-51B the other day so it will probably be awhile.

Agreed!!! The Fw-190F is far superior than anything we have seen so far from 21st, more model than adult collectible (there are NO screw holes on this plane and the landing gear is VERY detailed) My most favorite plane so far, and I can't wait till the A8 version hits..

It's been 2 weeks since I picked up my White 7.
I was able to get the wing cannon glued back on with no problem.

I have ONLY 2 slight issues about this plane:

1. I would not be able to hang this plane from the ceiling because the landing gear do not stay up. This is really not an issue, since all of my planes are on shelves.

2. The tines on the centerline bomb rack are too brittle. One of them almost snapped off when I attached the main bomb... an then it was crooked.
So... no big bomb for my plane. Again, not a big issue, because I prefer not to have bombs on a fighter plane. Just my .02.

The the plane is outstanding. If you see it, buy it!
The slight weathering of exhaust and around panel lines puts it over the top of the other 21C AC. Pictures do not do it justice.
