I agree. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore AC, but I may break my own rule on this one, the natural metal finishes were always some of my faves on the P-47. A fine looking bird indeed. 8)

I went Christmas shopping today for the wife and naturally I had to look for XD also. I stopped by hobbytown and what to my wandering eyes should appear, but tarheel hals and bald eagle P51s. I dont think these are at any walmart in the state of Georgia, yet. Of course, ya think internet shopping and freight are expensive, hobbytown is not ashamed to ask for 26.00 per- There's something to be said for holding the product in hand and picking the best, as long as the price is only slightly ridiculous. So, I bought them.

Here is a pic. Thought it was a neat scheme so I bought it.

Very cool! This was the first paint scheme they announced for this model, but then they never released it. To my knowledge this is the first report of this one. Nice find! i believe there are several members who will be very glad to see this version finally brought to market. 8) :D

Picked up th P-40E and P-40N a couple days ago. The new packaging is nice because 3 sides and 1 end are windows so you can see all sides of the plane unlke the older packaging with only 2 sides visible.

Actually, that new box is very much like the old XD and 32x boxes. The firs 1:18 XD planes and tanks came in boxes with windows on two sides, as did the vehicles in the first Vietnam line, and also the first wave of 32x vehicles. Two windows can really help with the visual inspection process 8)

Why, yes, that would most certainly be the one- but, be aware, Hobbytown opens at 10:00 am. More than once, I have arrived before then to stand in front of the store with all the other sheeple awaiting entry. Other stores' emloyees have already had their smoke breaks and worn out their cell phones before Htown opens. There were a couple of other bald eagles and 4 or 5 more tarheel hals.

Take a look at the pictures on BadCat's site of the S2 FW-190F. The squadron insignia features Mickey Mouse riding on German bomb, swinging an axe

But we already knew Walt Disney had sympathies for the Nazis, didn't we :P

Had a good Sunday for 32x and 1/48. At a TRU in AR found both the new playsets Tunisia and Kursk along with the new 1/48 Me-109K and also a 1/48 Bald Eagle P-51B. Both the planes were in the regular style packaging. At a WM in AR also found 2 new paintscheme Panzers in 1/48. One a very dark gray almost black the other in tan. Both were in the new style packaging with the window on 3 sides. :D

Went to the WM in Bremen, GA, just to see what was up. They had 4 sets of the new P51/ME262 duel packs, 2 of the camo 1/18 Migs @ $25 and 1 tiger stripe F104 (also $25) and a few assorted BF-109's and a Dora. I got the last ME-109 (Black 3). Can't believe that's the first ME I've been able to find.

The 1/6 MG34 sets were on sale for $3 each. The only figs were a few D-Day tankers in 1/32.

I'm hoping the Lithia Springs WM or the Douglasville TRU will get the new Butcher Birds in soon.
