What do you guys think of the 21st Century M41 Walker Bulldog tank model? I have only seen pictures of it, but it looks nice. Anyone have this model?

If you like tanks, It is a Must Buy. It is well worth the price IMO.

Very nice tank,painted mine to look like a south vietnam forces tank since the U.S.army & marines did not use them in that war,only the m48 and m42 duster were used in that war.

I think the M41 is a nice building platform. Though it is too new for my era, I can still use the tracks and frame to build myself some M24 Caffee tanks for my WWII modeling. I have about 8 of them. I used one to build me M25 Theodore Roosevelt tank(ficticious tank with 155mm cannon). I wanted to build M26 Pershing tanks, but then found out the M26 has 6 drive wheels on each side, not 5 like the M41. May try a M48 frame on that project The General

The M-41 is one of the best 1:18 tanks out there! I would rate it right behind the Tiger in terms of overall detail and functionality. It has a full interior, with crew seats and the gun breach detail. The interior is not quite as detailed as the Tiger's, however. The engine also opens and is the most detailed engine on a 1:18 military vehicle thus far. There are also all the neat little storage compartments on the vehicle sides and the turret.

In many ways, the M-41 was an odd choice for an armor piece - the 21c examples are painted in WWII or early 1950s US Army paintschemes, but really this tank should have come in ARVN markings or those of some other nation as the M-41 saw a much greate employment among US allies as opposed to with our military itself. The tank does go well with the 21c M-48, but you can also stick it in a WWII diorama, and while inaccurate, it doesn't look that out of place.

Further, if you get one, you may want to track down either some of the 21c Battle of the Bulge US tankers, the D-Day tankers, or the Vietnam tanker figures to crew it. All will work well with the tank.

I have one. I'm in the process of converting over to ARVN markings. I've got half the US stars off, but things have been a little hectic the last month, so I had set it aside.

Love it. Most numerous in my arsenal. For some reason, it just looks like a good ol' generic tank to me - kinda like the ones that used to come with green army men (BTW - anyone know what tank the green army men tank is based on?)

Have to agree. The M41 is a tank well worth the investment.

I still love this piece from 21C. Have one on display from when they first appeared at TRU (2000? 2001?) that I still "play" with from time to time. And in 2003 I picked up a second one of the 1st series, which is still in the box. Glad I did.

Anyway, there is one parked in front of the VFW Hall in Carrollton, GA. The turret is facing backwards, it's covered in wasp nests and rust, plus some trash has been tossed on it and small bits ripped off.

I think I shared my sentiments about the tank back in 2007 on this thread, but they still remain true today. Certainly one of 21c's best armor pieces, even if it didn't quite fit into any specific era. The detailed interior and engine are my favorite parts. The one I got in 2002 is still on display as is my winter version. Both are OOB, but I did save the box

If you're looking for a great 1:18 tank, the 21C Bulldog definitely fits the bill! It and the 21C Tiger are the two most detailed 1:18 tanks.

The only real detractor is that it did not have a long, distinguished career. It was too late for the Korean War, and started to be outdated by the Vietnam War, so it was mainly used by the South Vietnamese forces while their US allies used the newer, more powerful M48. Kind of an odd choice historically, but hey, it's still a tank!

The legion hall near my house has one parked out front, and it's cool to have my own little piece of that history back home.
