Just got an Email announcing BBI's New P-51, all it gives is a photo and short discription no price or announced release date.

http://www.blueboxtoys.com/bbi/eforce/4 ... .jpg[quote] Dear bbi Members,

Hot on the heels our 2 incredible Elite Force 1:18 scale Fighter Aircraft comes the "Ultimate Fighter"...the North American P-51 Mustang.

There is little we can say here that has not already been said about this amazing machine...it is usually said that there are "two kinds of pilots...those that have flown a Mustang and those that have not".

Produced by North American and using the mighty Rolls Royce Merlin engine this fighter dominated the skies over Europe and went on to become a legend.

So now you can get your very own legend replica.

Take a look at the detail we have included in this product...working flaps, undercarriage, moveable surfaces and much, much more!

This one will be a huge hit...after all...who doesn't want a Mustang?

So don't be slow...they'll really fly!

The weathering and external tanks look real sharp. But I'm not too sure about that paint scheme.......

This is very cool, a Sherman and now a Mustang. I hope they get into some axis items as well.

We did hear of a Mustang and they did deliver - this is good. I wouldn't count on axis as we haven't seen any enemy from bbi in the 1/18. Hopefully the detail they added to their aircrafts carried over to the armor and the M4 will give the 21c a run for it's money...
Anyway they have to give us figures soon if we have everything else....thanks bbi.

PS - Thanks P-51 the site is great.

If I'm not mistaken weren't they also producing or had made prototypes of a Hellcat and a Thunderbolt as well?

Just from the pic alone it appears to blow 21st's Mustang away! Why do I have a feeling Bbi will produce a Zero before 21st...because they probably will! Awesome!! :D :D

That thing looks great. I'm just tickled pink to see WWII from bbi. This is going to be a great year for 1/18 WWII.

Looks nice. I suppose they'll make a Panther and Me-109E next...

It would be nice to have some fresh subject matter.

21c's retooled Mustang is supposed to be coming out soon too. I wonder if they'll still go ahead with it. Most likely, as they have better distribution then BBI at the moment, since they have access to sell thru WM. I wonder where BBI will be selling all their stuff. Hope it does well.

All in all very promising for the months ahead...

BBI, 21st Century or ? . . . IMHO, there will always be room in the marketplace for accurate, well done P-51's in 1/18th. This is great!

Since I don't HAVE a Mustang and I doubt I'd find one from 21st since their stuff's non-existant anywhere but online (Finally got a Spitfire only because SBP put one version on sale... Don't even know what version it is, I just wanted a Spitfire and am hoping it's a European Theatre or African Theatre version), I'm pretty excited at the chance of getting a mustang...

I mean, seriously, I've seen a total of 3 airplanes from 21st... 1 P-47 scheme, and 2 P-40 paintschemes... That's since they went to WM. When they were with TRU I got an ME, 2 Stuka's and a P-38... Since then though, they've shown even LESS product than before, and I used to hate how unreliable they were with TRU even.

Forget them... I'll get BBi's and be happy they actually put something out that you could find somewhere... Barring it being outrageously priced. 21st often gives a superior product (or they have in comparison to BBI's modern stuff), but BBi's offered a lot more and actually made it available somewhere... The Stang looks good so I'm happy right now.

BBI P-51

I'm very happy to see that BBI is doing a P-51! I think it will be a more distinct possibility to see this long before the retooled 21st mustang. It looks wonderful in the picture and simply blows away the 21st Mustang, but then almost any airplane does that! I deffinitely plan to get one so that I have a P-51 whose quality is on par with my other 21st planes! As for BBI German vehicles, those as yet may be unlikely given TRU's ban on such products. Japanese aircraft haven't been banned, so a Zero would be doable!

Can't wait to get a look at BBI's stuff..

Very, very nice. Look at the detail on the drop tank connections. Hard to believe this is a model. The "killer" name looks like it was added after the photo - hope it's not on the production aircraft, it detracts from the overall realism. Am looking forward to seeing the pilot!

Looks great! I've always passed on the 21C P-51 (somehow just didn't grab me, unlike most of their other aircraft), but looks like I'll be going for the bbi version. Love to see what else they're going to produce in WWII pieces! Between 21C and bbi, this is a great time to be in 1/18.

A real pait scheme

What a nice site, a different paint scheme than the normal mostly covered jobs like the 357th, BBD, etc! This is a real aircraft, flown by Maj. Robert Stephens of the 355th FS, 354th FG. This has been one of my choices to do a 1/48th scale model of for awhile, so I'm very pleased just at the scheme alone. I noticed it right away from some aftermarket decal set, check it out here

http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/decal ... s48791.htm

let's see what happens with this one, but it's nice to see BBI entering the 1:18th area!

Hey Waltz,

Great find! Nice to know the paint scheme actually existed! Now it can be added to the profile album once bbi releases it. Thanks!

WOW! Dang... we're going to have a BBi vs 21st war going on for the king of WW2 aircraft.

As for the contest of who is king of WWII aircraft (and armor) 21st still holds the lead. BBI is indeed contesting the throne and with that P-51 and likely future releases may indeed prove to be a worthy contender.

Badcat is now showing the bbi mustang on their website and its selling for $54.95. Looks like the price is to go head to head with 21st Century.

Price is comparable to 21c planes as well. I bet these will be at online retailers only. Has anyone heard anything different on the subject?
The detailed engine will make this a good seller and raise the bar for detail.
