Cheaper than steak!

Post by olifant » Thu Oct 04, 2007 2:39 pm

I mainly prefer 1/32 with a handful of 1/18 AC. The other day I picked up a BBI Blackhawk despite my misgivings. I was absolutely amazed at it's size, realism and mostly it huge size and weight. I am guessing but this thing must be over six or seven pounds. At $2.50 a pound this is much cheaper than steak!

If you can't guess, XD and food compete at being my most favorite pasttime!

Anyway, I have never seen a BBI Falcon or Hornet and hesitate to spend the big bucks to pick them up. Are they as impressive as the Blackhawk? If so I will change my budget.

Bigger is better! Why the 1/18 stuff has a devoted following.

Now if your budget is like Bill Gates, then go 1/6 but the choices are restricted.

As the proud owner of pretty every modern aircraft platform that bbi has made except the kiowa, I can honestly say that IMHO the F/A-18 and F-16 are worth the spend. The visual impression is great--people still walk into my office or living room (I alternate my WWII and modern between home and work) and stand and stare. Then start asking questions, like who, where, how mich.

The F-18 is one of the most amazing pieces in 1:18. Worth every penny.

The BBI F-18 and F-16 (even if that particular plane is a bit oversized) are totally worth it! Both look incredible and you will not be disappointed 8)

BTW, if you are interested, boardmember raiderad6 is having a sale and the F-18 and F-16 are going for $55  That is a VERY good price and not counting shipping, you would be saving nearly $40 off the regular retail prices!

Yes, if you can pick up a BBI F-16, you will love the Fighting Falcon! :D

Thanks T-man, I am setting up the deal with him over both this weekend.

I was astounded to see you had changed your Alexander picture; I almost didn't recognize you!
