Does anyone have the 1/18th scale 21st Century Dodge WC51 3/4 ton truck model? What do you think of it? I have only seen pictures of it, but it looks nice. And second, does anyone make a good 1/18th scale Jeep? I mean a WW2 Jeep, or one of that era. Thanks for the help. :D

The Wc-51 or M-51 "Dodge" Weapons Carrier is very nice , highly detailed and highly recommended.

Yes ,.. 21st. made 2 jeeps. ... The ( S-1 ) & ( S-2 ) BoB "weathered". ... Highly detailed and best of the jeeps in this scale , 1:18 .

Also ,.. "Gate" made a die-cast version ,.. as well as "UT" models and by Solido.

The Solido model in particular is by far the best jeep IMO , next to the 21st. examples. ..., but this jeep has a "soft top" , very nice indeed , quite realistic. 8)

Unfortunately ,.. these are all "hard to find" now.

Hoped this helped !

As MG-42 stated, the Dodge WC-51 is very nice. To give you an idea of what to look out for, it has a fully detailed chasis, opening hood that reveals the engine, movable .50 MG mount, opening tail gate, removable canvass framing, and removable jerry cans. My only beefs with the vehicle are that it is difficult to insert figure's into driver's and front passenger's seats; you have to remove part of the legs. Also, no cloth cover was included to go on the framing over the bed (though that is pretty minor to me...) Otherwise, its a neat model and looks great filled with a troops or supplies!

Both the Dodge and the Gate and Solido Jeeps are super vehicles. Great additions to any 1/18 collection. Even the 21C Jeep is nothing to sneeze at.

BTW - Minor points.....The 21C vehicle is not a WC-51. The correct listing should be WC-52. The Dodge WC-51 has no winch, the WC-52 has the winch.

MG-42 mentions the M-51. The M series described vehicles developed in the late 40's. In the Dodge case, the truck changed to a 3/4 ton M-37 with the same engine as the WW2 WC 3/4 and 1 1/2 ton trucks except the M series 3/4 engine was waterproof and had electronic ignition.

There was no vehicle described as a M-51 in WW2. The M-51 was a Suoer Sherman used by the IDF and was developed with the Sherman body and a French 75mm in an expanded turret. The French 75mm was taken from the French AMX-13 Light Tank developed in the 50's. The IDF wanted continued use from the reliable Sherman. They do know good stuff when they see it...

If you get the opportunity to get the trucks, I suggest you grab them. Although not quite as accurate as mentioned in previous posts, they are still nice looking vehicles!
