Hi all,

The Victoria Scale Modellers just had their annual competition & display.

MiG29K decided to come up and show off his stuff. Absolutely incredible!
If you ever get a chance to see it in person - do it.

He got gold for his F18 conversion and his black hawk helicopter navy conversion.
The gatling gun alone was worth it. Well Done!

He shoots ...Scores! I never thought
I'd see the day when this would happen.

He also went home with a huge pile of door
prizes. I think he's very lucky.

Anway, just thought you might like to know that 1/18 scale
modelling is breaking into the main stream, slowly, but surely.

Congrats! 1/18 scale definitely is tops. Hopefully many of the modeling companies will take this into consideration in the future. Think of it fellas, 1/18 scale military model kits, wouldn't that be awesome! :D

Congrats MiG! It's nice to see the modeling community recognize what 1/18 can be capable of. :D

Truth be told, the only excitiment 1/18 kits generate for me is the potential aftermarket goodies that unassembled kits generate. Who wouldn't want a set of linked tracks for their tanks? Or some fricken Early Production Tiger I road wheels? 8)

Only if Rob would mass produce and sell to us fellow board members. That would be nice.

The madness started Friday night after work... A crash course in packing large planes without breaking them. 3 hours of sleep, having to wake up at 4am to race to Canada to pick up a 7am Ferry for a 1 hour and 35 minute ride to Victoria on the South Tip of Vancouver Island. The Whale Watching was quite the surprise. The weekend was a blurr and I documented everything in photographs from the 2am packing of the planes... the model show...the side trips...the town of Sidney itself (a must visit) all the way to the trip home. I'm still recovering from the lack of sleep! Thanks to all of you for your comments and staunch push for 1/18 rEvOlution!!

MG42... Thank you man!, and I left with a 1/35 scale Leopard and Challenger Tank. A cool lookin VIIC U boat... a German Gneisenau class battleship...a model of the USS Mt. Whitney and a 1/24 diecast yellow Ferrari Spyder which now sits in Hardensteels garage.

Birddawg.... You are now the Chief of R & D operations for that 'new' toy company that will be comin' round the corner ;)

... WE are going after them... little bit at at time....

tosborne, flpickupman, tkjaer21... Thank you... and I think the 1/18 revolution is about to begin...

Folkewulfe! Danke DUDE!!!! You rock!

I definitely must thank Hardensteel and the rest of the modeling community up in Victoria BC Canada for welcoming this Outsider into their town! You people are a tight knit community and beyond hospitable and made me feel at home. Thank you all again! I will have to get more people from Washington to go up. I'll see you guys in October at the IPMS show in Metrotown dude!

I'll post pics of from the trip shortly.... I'm about to go back to sleep! haha

Congrats Mig 29k. Your work is fantastic.
Hardensteel's work is nothing to sneeze at either. His custom Sherman Firefly won my first contest.
