Any hints as to what the next German WW2 aircraft will be??

Well we got the new ME-262 coming.
Im hoping a new tooled/refined Me-109, but doubtful.

An FW-190A-8 or Me-110 would be too cool.

Any other wishes/speculations?

Are there any hints as to what nationality the next WW2 aircraft will be, US,British,German, japanese,Russian???

There's the Nightfighter variant of the 21c ME-262 which shouldn't be too far off, given that the single-seat version is already out. An FW-190A is certainly a must given its overall importance to the Luftwaffe war effort, but that plane seems a bit of a stretch considering that the FW-190D sold so poorly.

It gets a little trickier making logical guesses after that, especially as most of the famous German fighter planes (again, not the FW-190A) have already been made... A modified Bf-109, such as an F or a G10 is doable. An ME-110 or JU-88 would be very cool, but they are large, complex, and probably quite expensive to make and perhaps not worth the risk. Time will tell, I guess

after the 262, the only planes we know about are the f-4, mig 21 and b-25. No hints of any others.

An Me-110 was planned several years ago but seems to have died on the vine, unfortunately.

Hoping if the B-25 becomes a reality and is well received, that a Ju-88 will be done. Zillions of repaint and rework possibilities and a reasonable size, for a bomber.

This is what I want, me-110, Ju-88, He-111 and a retooled me-109

I really think a retooled ME-109 would really be nice. I never bought the first one simplt for the fact that I think it looked crappy. the BF-109 on the other hand was awesome. A FW190 D was a poor choice on 21st part, the A variant would have been a much better choice.
A 110 would be great. I think 21st is going to wait and see if the larger twin prop aircraft will do well like the B-25 that is coming out. I think it will do great, but I think a 110 or a JU-88 would do even better. Lets not forget about the Mosquito now.

Next German Bird

Hi,
I'm going out on a limb here, but I think their next German machine will have wings, a tail, landing gear, and quite possibly some Luftwaffe markings. Ordinarily I'm a pretty conservative guy, but I think this time I'll bet the house on that guess. :D

Hopefully a me 110, although I'd probably take any new German plane and be happy.

Hey Lightning, since you didn't mention propellers & engines, wanna go out on a limb and gamble either a glider or a rocket powered aircraft? :D

So far i am waiting for the b25 8) When that is released many other bombers the same size can be released. So all we need is the b25

I'd like to see an Me-110 but would love to see a Horrten Flying Wing in 1:18th scale.

Hi,
Yeah, anything in the "110" family of zerstorers would be welcome in 1:32 scale. I can see a US WACO glider too as an interesting addition, but then you're begging for a C-47 Skytrain.

It's a hopeless dream, but I would love a Do-335.

A Fiesler Storch, Arado 234, or Arado 196 would be great too.

D or G model Ju 87 Stuka

and dont forget the
He 162
Me 163
Hs 129
He 219

not to mention these un-sung Luftwaffe stalwarts
Hs 126
Hs 123
Fw 189

.....or maybe an Me 410 afterall it was one of the nicest looking of all crap planes :)

..... Moth is right the Pfeil, Blitz and Storch would be nice (understatement) but probably unlikely and the Ar 196 would be interesting if nothing else.

Oh yes as T-man said the Bf 109G could use all those built in swappable tooling features to make a later G or indeed an F or K if you can live with the minor detail issues.

I have a set of scale plans in 1/18 scale for the Horten. I have the big book and they have the steel frame and everything. Someday , someday I will be able to do it . That is probably my 100th project on the todo list. :?

Spike-man

Essentially the only place that you can see the internal tubing of the Horten IX (Gotha Go229) is through the cockpit and the nose wheel well, seeing that the wings outboard of the engine cowls where covered in wood and the engine cowls and cockpit where very flush and smooth themselves you could almost carve the whole thing from hard wood and get away with it!

Look here for a nice detailed model….

I don't understand why no one has plans drawn for many of the fabric covered planes in 1/18.

I have the 1/16 Stearman, but no time to rescale and build, yet.

I'd also like to do a L-5, since my neighbor has 5 complete and prob 4 in pieces.

L-5, Auster, Cub (Grasshopper) and Storch all successful fabric over steel designs, but apparently nobody (?) wants them, even though these aircraft a very popular RC fliers :(

A Bf-110 is a must. Along with the Bf-109F painted in various North African schemes.
