It's an ARF r/c plane. Looks like quite a nice model. Check out the clip of it flying. It's a bit bigger than 1/18...about 1/16 i figure.

Great find! That is one cool looking bomber, and would work for out purposes. It doesn't cost much more than the 1:6 RC Stuart at a small retailer, and this is a flying plane that can go with all our other 1:18 aircraft! One could concievably scratchbuild seats, instruments, and controls for the cockpit and nose section, and display some XD pilots inside!

well, it only flies if you buy all the other junk at the bottom of the page, so it's going to cost a fair bit more than a 1/6 stuart to get it airborne; but still it would be pretty neat.
As i said it's about 1/16 scale which means it's about 11% bigger than it would be in 1/18.....so xd pilots and crew would not look too out of place in it and you'd certainly have enough room to put them in it.
I bet someone with some ingenuity could make the little bomb doors open and close...
What's interesting is that it really isn't all that big....and a proper xd one would be several inches smaller in each dimension. (about 35" by 44.5" in 1/18). So come on 21c....what's the hold up??

I've always invisioned having an RC bomber that would have bombbay doors that I could load with those 'popper' things. I've got two huge boxes of the poppers, and it'd be awesome to do a bomb run with those poppers falling out making the popping noises and the sparks.

Great find, Aferg!! I'd LOVE to have one of those, but it's way out of my price range. Something this size should be possible for 21st or bbi, I'd think. The B-25 wingspan is just bit more than an Avenger. I did a quick check on Google to see if I could find one any less expensive, and this was one of my results:
B 25 Mitchell For Sale
Low Priced B 25 Mitchell
Huge Selection! (aff)
ebay.com
Gee, if I had known I could get B-25's on e-bay, I would have tried to pick up a few...
My search didn't find any other source for the R/C model, either ...

The P-38 Lightning is not much smaller than the B-25. At the Planes of Fame Museum, they often put the P-38 right next to the B-25 in one of the hangars, so I see them all the time together. The B-25 have more mass, and length wise it's bigger. But the wingspan isn't all that much longer.

Eh, the B-25 wingspan is 67 feet compared to 54 feet for the Avenger and 52 feet for the P38. That's quite a bit bigger IMHO. That is a wingspan of 44" for the B-25 compared to 34" on the P-38 in 1:18..............

It looks really nice and it actually flies!
the movie is impressive and the plane flies really cool!
the price is high, especially for non-flier people like me...hahaha!
I can jump out of a plane but can't fly the d)*&$_) thing!...hahha!
just to put some pilots inside of it and turret gunners plus some custumization of stickers would make it look really nice.
keep me posted,
HOOAH!
