PTE Howitzer... To-Scale, Or No?

The PTE Howitzer is really mounting up around the Pitt area and I was wondering, is it to-scale? Not being overly familiar with it, I just can't tell by looking at the item in the store. Looks small to me, but what do I know?
I figured Aferg would have the answer on this one, but I'll take anyone's opinion here of course.

it's pretty good. The wheels are way too small and really need to be replaced. The barrel is too short for a 155mm Long Tom and too long for the 8 inch howitzer (it's also a bit too thick for the Long Tom and too thin for the 8 inch), so if you want to make it look more correct you'll need to alter it one way or the other. I wouldn't worry about the diameter of the barrel; just make it longer or shorter.
Aside from that, it's not bad and is reasonably too scale. Many of the details are off and the platform around the breach area does not exist on the real guns.
That said, with a bit of fairly easy modification, it can be made into a decent looking replica of either gun.

For me it's close enough. I can use it with my XD guys and the PTE guys. It has a good price too. And it's FUN!
If you have friends who come over with a ruler or MUSEUM friends who won't look at your stuff unless it's true 1:18 scale, I'd probably pass it up.
But if you do pass it up, once it's gone from Big Lots, chances are you won't find it again...
And if you're a stickler for TRUE 1:18, do what aferguson has done with his!

Thanks for the heads up...
I probably won't be picking up Howitzers since I've got lots of other PTE to get and the work needed to fix it is a bit more than I care to get into to make it display with XD stuff... $$$ better spent on other things is all, so I'll just focus on other stuff I want tons of at BL right now, haha.
Just trying to find out what I want, and what I don't want... So I appreciate the tips guys.

I agree with Holensock...
for the price, you can beat it!
it looks fine to me as it is....i'm not going to spend anytime making barrels longer or shorter since to me it is all about fun but if i wanted real accuracy i would get a 1/1...hahahahha

HA! Love it, 75th Ranger! And with THAT MUCH ACCURACY to scale, I'm sure you'll be able to buy it at a great price at WALMART, TARGET or TOYS R US!
