OK, Who Did This???

"Yesterday, for example, a BH Avenger was returned for a "scratch" that was no bigger than the head of a pin on the bottom of the left wing. Two-thousand-seven finds us inundated with this type of ridiculous, anal-retentive waste (pun intended) of what is a perfectly good product."

The more expensive an item gets the more some people notice tiny flaws. Maybe he wanted a real cherry one to sell in the future, who knows. The fact is, he bought it and didn't like it and the return policy obviously gave him the right to return it. I'm thinking that maybe someone should speak with the guy who wrote that return policy and word it a little bit differently if this is such a problem.

it was maybe an attempt to return an unwanted item, claiming it was 'defective', so as not to have to pay the 20% restocking fee?

If the product doesn't meet a buyer's expectations, I don't see a problem in returning it.

I think people's expectations are too high, but as someone said if that's the policy..

Generally that post has some interesting info - it does seem like 1:18 AC is floundering even though we have 3 companies now. I can see how it just doesn't pay for the Etailers like it once did, and like 1:6, collectors are getting very picky and it will drive away affordable options. 21C kick-started the 1:6 stuff, only to be pushed out by Dragon, etc..then 1:18, only to be followed by bbi, etc...and now 1:32 warbirds are taking off with fov jumping in with 2 feet...I know competition is good but it seems to limit options in the long run. I guess there is only so much room in the playground..

The higher the price, the higher are peoples expectations. The 21C 1/6 "toys" are full of scale problems but price was relativally low and quality and strength was super so every 1/6 collector starts with 21C vehicles and figs.

21C was pushed out of the 1/6 market for figures by the continued improvement in accuracy and realistic heads and hands by DML and then DID. It is a shame 21C is now relagated to weapon sets (which are quite good BTW). Had 21C improved it's figs, which it can do, it would be a force in that market. Competition is always good for the consumer.

You plane guys are lightening fast to critize new issues and for some serious money (Avenger, P-38) nobody wants to put their hands in to correct.

U know I'm not a plane guy but the 1/32 planes are super looking and sure take up less room........that said, I can't wait for the 1/18 B-25, but if that doesn't come about, I will seriously look at smaller scales for the B-25 now that my wallet is open and primed and the moths have flown away...... :)

I laughed when I read this on the Bad Cat Blog. A small scratch no bigger then the head of a pin and they return it? Wow and I thought I was picky. My Atlantic Avenger had some minor scratches and there was no way I was gonna return it. I may be picky but not that picky.

My Avenger is missing the door! Does that count?

If I could find another Avenger I would return it, as of now I have the bad side to the wall. :(

I got absolutely no help from 21st, after repeated calls. :x

Continuing on a popular line of thought, here's today's gem...

"Normally, after the news becomes old, I'll-buy-fives will find an lame excuse to bow out of the purchase while perserving dignity ("The prop tips aren't painted yellow? The canopy doesn't have a rear frame? Forget it. Not interested anymore.")."
