Would you settle for less then 1/18?

With all the talk of what may or may not be produced because of price, space, the planets not being aligned, or whatever. If 1/18 was ruled out would you buy the larger models in 1/24th Scale as an alternative?
I've thought about this one for awhile and yes if every backs out of large scale jets or bombers. I'd start collecting 1/24 as long as the detail was good. Just my thoughts, how about yours?

NOPE,
1:18 or nothing

while i've become a bit compromising in scale over the years 1/24 is far too small for me......maybe if it were a Saturn V rocket..

Or a 1/24 scale U-boat

mmm....maybe but the one i plan to build will be 1/20. If a beauty one came out in 1/24 and was affordable i'd probably buckle though. I nearly bought a 1/24 scale Type XXIII uboat kit but in the end the $800 price tag PLUS the significant underscaleness made me decide not to.

1/18th for me. The scale has the wow factor that I like. 1/24 th scale is too small for me.

I collect 1:72, as well as 1:18. The main reason being that there are more models to choose from in 1:72 than 1:18, or any other scale for that matter. Now if all the aircraft that I desire were made in 1:18, that would be all I collected. Granted the B-17, B-24, and PBY Catalina would take up a lot of space, but I would figure something out.

I have the Marui Tiger, the Hasegawa Kubel and the Italeri Blitz in 1/24th. Nice scale. I'd like to see more.
There are several Bandai kits of German armor, but they are long out of production and very expensive.

Its 1/18th or nothing. So I voted no.

I've grown accustomed to the XD detail of the 1/18th items so anything smaller and less detailed than that wouldn't appeal to me.

You just can't replace 1/18

So i voted no

I collect other scales already--1:72 and 1:144, but they serve a far different role than my 1:18 collection. Great for dioramas and little office displays. But 1:18 is the one that makes people (including myself) stop, back up, and stare.
And I have been collecting 1:18 since 1985--although in the form of die-cast cars. There is something about having a fleet of 60+ Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other exotics for your troops to have available for leave

I collect 1/6 and 1/18. But even if there is some nice models in 1/32, I will stay in 1/18. The bigger the better ! So I voted NO.

1:18 for me... Mixing scales is pointless to me. I'd rather do without honestly.

Honestly, the more 1/18 stuff I buy, the more I'm bothered by home undersized most of my SW vehicles are. In fact, I refuse to buy Maul's Infiltrator because it is so small.
I answered no, but I'm not against using 1/16 or 1/20, if it will not be displayed close-up with figures.

Between 1:18 figures, 1:32 armor and aircraft and 1:72 armor and aircraft I have enough scales already!

The only WAY I would considered going to a 1/24 scale if these birds had this kind of detail, it wil never happen so I will never go smaller then 1:18th

You mean I've been stuck here all this time and you've got some real starships lurking nearby??

Or are you comparing it to the ones shown in Jor Klukaas's propaganda films?
I mean, next you'll be telling me the Palitoy Millenium Falcon currently sitting next to my BBI Little Bird shouldn't even have fit in my front door...

ah i mis-understood the vote i cast. i initially selected "no"
if 1/18th WAS NO LONGER PRODUCED....because of the cost, "YES" would be my vote
but if it is just due to COST, and still being made...i will just have a more expensive hobby and still collect them

"NO" would be my original answer.

Wha? You can't go anything less than 1:18! The bigger the better.
