1/18 Israeli Defense Force figures...anyone?

Post by 75th Ranger » Mon Jan 24, 2005 3:48 am

Hello guys!
I had this idea, and i wanted to share it with you guys.
I was wondering how many of you wouldl ike to see 1/18 Israeli defense force figures...
do you guys remember a while back when Dragon did the 1/35 scale 4 figure set, I would love to see those made in 1/18....to recreate a different diorama concept of the region.
Also some Brits, like Desert Rats...
in other words i would like to see 1/18 figures from other countries.
Does any one have an idea of a possibility of custumizing some Israeli Defense force 1/18 figures?
keep me posted,
take care,
HOOAH!

Hi, we have both been around a while, I am also a modern 1/18 fan. I would like to see a basic figure in OD or netural color with accessory packs of different weapons, helmets, and gear from other nations.
I know it could be done!

21st could have put together a nice modern accessory set. with m16's ak47's new m16a2 and a4's from the humvee and 249saw from the modern troops,, they have all the molds.....just my rant...

I would like to see IDF troopers, British SAS, and some African SOF.

In the mean time,, I make my own....t

ideas

Post by 75th Ranger » Mon Jan 24, 2005 9:29 am

tderespino,
My trusty combat buddy!
i guess we are both in the same foxhole when it comes to likes and wish list!
you know I was thinking of custumizing an IDF figure in 1/18...maybe we can work this concept together to get a better solution.
My idea so far is as follos:

1- figure body = 21st OD green M113 plain figure.

2- head replacement with the NAM 21st Mutt driver figure...it looks IDF to me..hahaha! or any other head that would fit.

that solves the figure in plain uniform problem, but the IDF helmet and accessories thaat is where i get into a halt....any ideas?
keep me posted.
take care,
HOOAH!

IDF helmet

Post by tderespino » Mon Jan 24, 2005 10:10 am

the Helmet should not be to hard,, kinda looks like a wwII german para, I have a few extras in my parts box,, I will see If I can work something up...It would be nice to have some russian spetznatz too...I am still waiting for a full release....of BBI new figures....the new weapons and berets could be used in lots of customs...I know I have a few UZI lookin' guns from GI Joe 3.75....

Also for anyone out there, please do not read any political or patriotic messages in these figures, all free nations have great armies. I would also like to see other Middle eastern, european and asian modern military stuff....the key here is Modern...if they would supply us with 1/18 stuff like they supply all the 1/6 weapons from around the world I would be set for years...tom

let's work on the concept

Post by 75th Ranger » Mon Jan 24, 2005 10:20 am

tderespino,
let's work on the concept,
and see what we come up with.
i was think that they IDf uses M4 and also UZIs and GAlil...
keep me posted with your findings and i will keep you posted with mine.
Btw did you like the idea of using the figure that i mentioned?
or do you have another idea in mind?
let me know.

Note to readers:
I think my interet in the IDF is because they seem as a formidable modern force. justl like the French Foriegn Legion and the Brits SAS to mention a few...and i admire great soldiers having been a sodier for agreat part of my life. For example the 1/18 figures of the Viet Cong and NVA soldiers were great considering that they were excellent soldiers that fought for their own beliefs. Remember there is always to sides in WAR!
HOOAH!

Your ideas are great and especially since the IDF uses so many US vehicles, Jeeps, the M-113 and 4,000 White Half-track sitting in their "ready reserves" after being replaced by the M-113. They are a natural for us to play with.

I surely would love to see a 1:18 Merkava IDF tank. I've been facinated with that tank since it came out.

Why are you guys talking like PC people from TRU are going to come after you? We don't care about them, we only care about our toys and little dollies.

PC??

Post by tderespino » Tue Jan 25, 2005 7:33 am

I do not think it is a matter of being PC,
I want to make sure there are no Politics involved....
I am a fan of all military, but I am no fan of government(s)...t

I would intend to agree. I am no fan of PC, but I am kinda a fan of GC (Government Correct) based mostly on where I live. My country is MY country, I gave four years of my life to defend it, I volunteered for a year in VN, even extended my enlistment to spend the year in VN. I would not live anywhere else.

I push public awareness of our military by collecting and restoring military vehicles, I drive one of my trucks almost every day.

I am not a military fan, I am a fanatic on the military.

Sorry to preach, but I have to stop now and go down in my bunker and roatate some of my food stuffs. And then go out and grease the boggle wheels on my.......oh never mind.

Bring on the Merkeva IV or III (MOUT version) 1/18 or 1/32 I don't care so long as they do a good job. F-16I as well BBI? Well, i can always dream - seriously though a BCA IAF Block 30 exclusive is more realistic. Wonder if it would sell enough though?
