BBI at Target

Post by digger » Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:41 am

No, this is not the first sighting. Sorry if you thought that.

But the stuff should start showing up in the next few days, at least in some stores. That said, please keep an eye out even if modern 1:18 is not your cup of tea. I am sure a lot of us are dying to know what, if any new figures show up, and how much they cost. How much are the vehicles, and do they have new paint jobs? If you do pop by Target please be our LRRP team, and remember any intel is valuable intel.

There is a brand spanking new Super Target opening in my neighborhood on July 24th 2007.

I will be there on opening day to check for bbi items.

Gah! That's exactly what I thought! ;-)

But, more to the point, I just came from a Target and nothing yet.

I'm checking every day.

I'll let you know if I find any, though it will probably be a while yet... I've very curious to see what will show up as well

The Joe pages and showing a Hasbro "ship date" for the new Joes on June 25. I'm assuming this actually means the "street date" where they will start showing up at Walmarts. Target has also started another round of toy clearance. I guessing an aisle refresh is coming in the next couple weeks, and wouldn't be surprised to see the BBis showing up then.

I noticed today that one of my WalMarts did a reset in the last week, so it appears to be reset time... I'm looking forward to seeing how Target puts BBi into the planogram... sometimes their pegs start to run together after a couple months. and it's not like the Blackhawk and Apache have small boxes.

Hell they shrunk the Star Wars and FOV section down in Target for those crappy movie tie-in Transformers. WM did the same thing with their Star Wars section.

ETA is any day now. Products include M1, LAV, Apache, Blackhawk and modern figures. The $50 question is whether the modern figs are the new ones or re-release of the older figs. Can't wait for these to show..

Spoke to the toy manager at my local Target last week and he said the Christmas reset is slated to begin in 4 weeks, so I am figuring the middle of August..

Rumours have been running for a few weeks that Target was starting the latest clearance. This week saw the Back To School start to come in. But today, the bright spot was that one of my Targets went on full massive clearance!!! It will be happening in just a few more weeks.

I think all Mike has mentioned for this load are the figures and Apache and Blackhawk. Keep in mind this is just a trial, and if we buy good, it will mean more!!

No, vehicles too:

"Yes I know I have been MIA...but I'm back now...tell your boys to brace themselves and keep an eye on Target Stores.
Anybody who wants a Blackhawk, Apache, M1-A1, LAV or Humvee will be "over the moon"...plenty of figures too...but Modern fans only. And at prices that I don't believe..."

I knew better than to not go and grab the exact post. I guess I wasn't paying attention to the vehicle part in the first place.

Still, buy them up boys. It's the only way to get more. Do not let these clearance! 8)

Modern's fine and dandy by me since any figure at this point is appreciated... :)

My WM's are loaded up with wave 2 of 21st's D-Day figures and really we need more Wave 1 we got sparingly. But BBI's non-existant at TRU, so any new home is great... Plus a blackhawk and Abrahams would be nice things to have since I never got the last ones.

At least you darn colonials get new stuff! Here in Blighty it takes ages to see anything new, if ever. I've only seen ONE LAV this side of the pond, at that was the day I went and bought the Apache :( When I went back, the LAV had gone...

NEWS FLASH.............................

A brand spanking new Super Target opened its doors for the first time this afternoon. And yes, bbi was on the shelf. Here is what I found.

There were no repaints of any kind. Sorry guys, same paints as before.

On the back of the boxes there were no pictures of new molds or repaints.

Now on to the details:

Items available on the shelf:

Super Humvee bbi item # 021288
Price $19.99

L.A.V. bbi item # 021251
Price would not scan so they gave it to me for $19.99 :)

M1A1 bbi item # 021250
Price $24.99 :D

AH-64 bbi item # 021249
Price would not scan so they gave it to me for $29.99

Black Hawk bbi item # 021184
Price $29.99

The $30.00 Blackhawk & Apache just blew me away. Mike was not kidding when he said we would love the price.

I took all the above home for $124.95 plus tax.

Planes: No signs of the Hornet or Falcon. :(

Figures:

All figs were priced at $4.99

Item # 21713 "Jackson"
Item # 21714 "Hanson"
Item # 21715 "Rooney"
Item # 21716 "Harris"
Item # 21717 "Marvin Martinez"
Item # 21718 "William Thomas"

Item # 21177 Point Man
Item # 21178 Machine Gunner

Other bbi figs on the pegs were the modern paratroopers item # 21694 thru 21699.

I have already seen all these figs at Toys "R" Us.

That is all for now. I will check in again if I find any new items there.

Cheers!
