Canadian Sources for XD

Post by mrkisskissbangbang » Mon Jun 18, 2007 8:41 am

This is for the Canadians on the forum. Hopefully TRU will carry the XD line here in the Great White North since Walmart doesn't and won't.

There are a few sources that I have found within Ontario Canada that do carry XD aircraft and hopefully one of the sources will start carrying the armor.

With the exchange almost at par with the American dollar, unfortunately the items are going for a lot more than at BadCat or SmallJoes. But factoring shipping/handling and customs duty. It's pretty much on target.

Modellers Choice
1400 Upper James St.
Hamilton, ON

*nothing posted on their website. But there are a few 21st Century and BBI aircraft in the store.

Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
9280 Airport Road
Mount Hope, ON

*good selection of aircraft in the giftshop

Aviation World
195 Carlingview Drive
Toronto, ON

*they have items listed on their website. Surprised that they still have some Spitfires!

Happy hunting!

Cheers

thanks for the info...there's also Collector's Lane in scarborough (toronto) but there prices are absurd. I can buy two online, pay shipping, duties etc for what they charge for one.

I really doubt TRU will be carrying XD in Canada.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I hear you! I've been to Collector's Lane in Scarborough and just couldn't get over the prices on their 1:18 scale items. I had to pass on those as the prices were way out of line. I did end up trading in some plastic model kits to offset the cost on a few 1:6th scale items to go with my Stuart.

Better off taking a day trip to Niagara Falls/Buffalo NY to their Walmarts, Toys R Us and KB Toys. There is also a nice little hobby shop near the Galleria Mall that has G-scale train items. Canadian customs might not even pull you over to pay duty....if you keep your purchases within a reasonable limit.

Cheers

You're right. There's only one TRU in my area (St. Catherines, only about 10km away), and I think they cater to the FOV brand.

Niagara Hobby over by the Galleria is top notch. My dad and I would hit it every weekend without fail. Since they have the dollhouse section, I bet the have some good diorama fodder. And, they have a kick butt selection of Britains.

Hello,

I would like to humbly add our store to the list of canadian sources for XD. Although it is true we don't have an extensive selection of XD items for the time being, we do plan on adding to our stocks in the near future.
