Are we ever going to see new choppers?!

I started collecting 1/18 scale helicopters after getting one of the Motorworks AH-1W for a mere $18. The only chopper I've bought after that was the recent release of BBI's MH-6. Now I'm keepnig my eyes on BBI's Blackhawk.
I need my fix of cool 1/18 choppers? Did all the companies drop it?

The fact that you were able to get the Super Cobra for $18 should answer your own question, at least with regard to new product development.

it appears helicopter sales are not that strong, so that may mean new ones will be rare to find. However, i still think we will see something new in future.
I imagine 21c will re-release their Huey when they start putting out their Vietnam line (hopefully reworked to a D model) and the BBI Blackhawk is supposed to be going to Target stores.
I can see a Hind being produced one day, as it seems to be one of those aircraft that even people not overly interested in helicopters would buy. It's often mentioned on the board...

I think the main thing is that the most feasible ones have been done, not that they don't sell. Mike has said the LB was a power seller. I can't imagine the Blackhawk didn't recoup costs (I know it won an award). The Huey has seen about 5 incarnations from 21st and only the CIA version isn't getting a decent price. The Kiowa is sold out everywhere. Maybe I'm just stuck on seeing a Jolly Green Giant sand hope springs eternal..

a Jolly Green would be magnificent, but unfortunately, unlikely. Maybe somebody like PTE will do their version of it, like they've done the Sea Knight and Tarhe (Skycrane). That's probably the best we can hope for.

I'd like to see some new helicopters too perhaps a long bow Apache, A Black blackhawk with miniguns etc. For a completely new item i'd like to see a Sea king as it could be done with lots of different markings

BBI was all set to release an RAH-66 Comanche but when it was cancelled by the US army, BBI cancelled theirs too...
Most of the helo's on your list are too obscure to be made, i'm afraid. I think our best bets are a retooled huey (into a D) and a Hind, with a very outside chance of a Sea Knight or Chinook.

A little off topic, but for anyone that owns the 1/18 Cobra, did 21st Century purposely forget to angle/slant the wings?
I'd love to see a Hind/Hoku/Havoc.

I can't say if 21C purposefully "forgot" to angle the stub wings on the Whiskey, but it is an easy enough fix that makes all the difference in the world to the overall look of the helo. Certainly worth the effort.
While I'm here, I will through in my suggestions for new helos. First and foremost, I would like to see a USCG HH-60J/MH-60J Jayhawk. (Big surprise, huh?) Next, even though highly unlikely, a MH-53 would be nice. And of course, we 'gotta have a Hind.

I'd love to see any Russian helo but firdt is the Hind of course then the Kamovs. But I've seen a Hind used by the Army for training, I think it's in Louisiana and it's called the Warduke and I would love to have one hovering in my living room with the rest of my fleet.

It's at Fort polk in Louisiana JRTC I seen it close up after it had to land due to engine problems. it was a real cool looking helo.

Consider yourself very fortunate, NIB they routinely go for $70 to $100 or more on ebay when they are available.
