If not the President's plane, how about Ted Williams' plane?

Okay so it seems that roughly 64% aren't in favor of the current President's plane made due to him not actually having combat hours. For someone who actually flew 39 missions in a Marines squadron F-9 Panther, look no other than one great patriot - Ted Williams. He also trained during WWII in a Piper Cub, then a Naval SNJ, then finally a F4U-1 in Jacksonville. He never saw combat in WWII, just Korea. Even made a miraculous crash landing after a dogfight. Not only that, he was John Glenn's wingman. I suspect John may have requested that one - in those days who wouldn't want to say he flew with the greatest hitter of their generation?

That would be cool---though I think you would run into some license issues from that wack job son of his.

True. Didn't think of that initially. Well I guess then if any of the big 3 even make a F-9 Panther, then we'll just have to customize our own Ted Williams version ourselves.

I don't know if I want Major League Baseball logos on my Panther.

The Panther is a cool plane. Unfortunately I would be surprised to ever see it in 1:18 due to the lack of schemes. But I can think of a better pilot for a paint scheme though. Did you know Neil Armstrong flew Panthers?

Or how about a Teddy Kennedy plane:
Always turns to the left and crashes into the water.

This a plane that I would like to see.
What about a 1/18 scale cyosphere to hold Ted Williams' cranium. They can have all the Hall of Famors standing around with this on there faces

I like the idea of making the Panther. I'm sure a surprise to many as I've been critical in the past regarding what some might consider are more popular aircraft. Maybe it was too much of the movie "The Bridges at Toko Ri" that did it for me.
...and yea, I know - a different aircraft but I think at the very least the Navy deserves a nod every now and then.
