inconsistancies or variations to the latest batch of figures

Post by Popeye » Wed May 09, 2007 8:29 am

Has anyone found any inconsistancies, or variations to the latest 18 new figures from 21st century toys?

I found that my Bar Gunner - Pvt. Harry "Sammy" Smith has Sgt chevrons on his left and right posible arms, while both the arms with no articulation are Pve.

I'm up here in Canada and don't have others to compare with. What are everyones' findings for this particular figure and the rest of the 18 1:18 new figures?

I've gotten variations in skin-tone from tan to badly sunburned
I not looked that closely at the rank insignia, though a misprint (or even putting the wrong parts with the wrong figure) wouldn't be that out of the question... Usually, the rank given on the card doesn't match up to the insignia on the figure.

Ive seen the Tank Commander - Sgt. Jesse "Wildman" James come with the Tank Gunner - Pvt. Kevin "Scribe" Debree driver head with the common driver hat on instead of the new removable tanker helment. It did not even come with the tanker helment at all.

I have the whole set and many duplicates and I haven't opened them. But I would say the biggest variation is skin color. Some look like they stood too close to an atomic bomb test while other examples of the same figure look really good.

I remember when we were praying for a whole tank crew and hearing that 21st was going out of business and where in the world were we going to get 18th stuff. Maybe we should count our blessings...

so the figures don't have the propper rank with their name like PVe bar gunner with sgt stripes, but are there rank variations with the same figures? I.E bar gunner can have cpl, sgt, or pve chevrons?

Although the ranks printed on the card do not match up with the insignia on the figures, the rank of an individual figure does not vary with that figure. For example, the US Tank commander figure is marked with the Private 1st class insignia; US Tank gunner with the Private insignia, US Rifleman with the Seargent insignia, etc.

Exceptions can most likely occur, however, which would be from the factory putting in the wrong arms for the wrong figure. Given that many of the US figures have similar shaped arms, this would not be unlikely
