Small Scale Military Headquarters

Hey guys. Well after getting Old Crow I'm down sizing so to speak. Last night I sold Tender Terror for $400. It was tough but I had to. A couple of days ago I sold Ridge Runner for $40 and the same with Petie The 2nd. So all total I made $480 off 3 Mustangs. Not to bad. So after selling off 3 Mustangs that leaves me with 2 and they are Old Crow and Hurry Home Honey and those wont go anywhere because of the 2 pilots they represent one of which I know personally and the other I am good freinds with his son. My Avenger is going nowhere, my Corsairs are going nowhere and my Spit is also staying put as well as the ME-109 its chasing down. Now I have to decide on whether I want to get BBD. Do I want another Mustang because of a pretty paint scheme? I dont know just yet. Maybe enough is enough.

Its hard for me to sell off a Mustang but when the room is shrinking and you need to make space you have to do what you have to do. I have 2 Mustangs that represent 2 very famous Aces so that might be enough for me but I had a chance to see BBD last night up close and personal and she looked very very nice. So maybe that will be next I dont know but guys when do you say enough is enough?

I need your guys opinions so let them roll.

you know when you have enough tanks or plane is when the price of holding on to them is greater then having them...

example in my case when i have to buy storage space for my beloved stuff, I will most likely sale it to have more space ..

So I too in some point in time wanted to sale my collection.., put your stuff away some were and come back to it at another time....

I'm not selling off my collection, just scaling down on my Mustangs to make room for maybe BBD.

I have made it a point to get only 1-2 paintschemes of a particular plane. My only exception is the P-51 in 1:18, of which I have currently 5 (21c's Lou IV, Petie 2nd, Undertaker, Old Crow, and BBI's Killer). I am eventually going to sell the Undertaker P-51, but will keep the rest. The P-51 has been the longest running aircraft type in 1:18, and has seen the most variations from the original 21c version to the BBI plane to the retooled 21c example, which partly explains the reason as to why I've accumulated so many...

"Hey MM" ,.. if you really want BBD , "buy it" , even if it means letting go something else later on. I'd try to at least make room for it first. ... + =

Well BBD is on my target list but I cant get it this week due to I have a car payment to make. But next Friday I will have to get it. It will be my last Mustang until they come out with a B or C Mustang and I think that will be awhile. At least in 1/18th scale that is.

I think there is a difference between scaling down your collection and just making room for more stuff.

Of course, it helps if you make a profit on what you are getting rid of.

I am at a point where I will actually be out of room. My new house will have one room devoted to toys and it looks like only one room. I'll have an attic for boxed overstock but that would only be MIB stuff. My 1/6 toys take up alot of room and I may have to downscale some of my 1/6 stuff.

Still will have room for my Pacific Avenger and Dauntless and B-25......no matter what.

I pretty much switched to 1:32 myself. Oh I still buy XD figures but the 1:32 stuff is really nice, and easier to find a space for.

Every once in a while I open the drawer in my desk and there sits part of my collection of 1/32. I look at the drawer and then I look up at the 1/18 WC-52 sitting in the cargo bed of my 1/6 WC-52 and I wonder.....

You just never know......but then as soon as I get rid of my 1/18 and 1/6 then all kinds of neat stuff will come out.

I'll probably be practical and just buy another house for my toys.

That's part of my problem - I collect both scales!

I can't switch to 1/32.
Everything I collect is in 1/18, and that's 17 planes, 9 armor, and 255 cars.

1/32 really is a better scale, detail is more or less even to 1/18, but it uses a lot less space and money.
I should have started with 1/32

Well my sights are set now on BBD. Then that will be it for the P-51 Mustang in 1/18th scale and its a good way to round out my Mustang collection with a P-51 that has to have one of the best all around paint schemes of WW 2 and for 1/18th Mustangs in general. Then until the Dauntless and Hellcat arrive I'm going to switch to the smaller scales like 1/32nd and 1/48th. For now thats the best way to go in my book.

I remain dedicated to 1/18, but my 1/6 Cy Girls collect 1/24 (or 1/144 for us 1/1 folks). But the are nice enough to share.

I collect 1/18, 1/32, 1/48, 1/50, 1/72 and smaller. Its a form of Scalophrenia.

Sadly it almost always leads to a serious case of clutterupticus disorder, which is usually followed by severe emptywalleticus-whaddaitellthewifeicus, which always leads to a near critical case of wifepissedoffia. I have been led to believe this is often fatal.

Don't forget the horrible Broken Piece Syndrome, BPS or it's cousin that I am suffering from, Missing Partitus.

I started in 1/32, then went to 1/18, and now, im afraid im turning to the darkside of 1/6!!!, but im still madly into 1/18!!

Room issues, know'em all too well I think alot of us have them to some extent.My problem is if I have it ,I display it. Never have been one to put something in storage.The only 1/6 piece that I have anymore is a Littlebird. I don't dare sell it because the wife gave it to me for Christmas. I've sold a couple of my 1/18 tanks to make a little room and will get rid of more down the road. I love armor but like aircraft more. I have 1/32 armor and that's good enough for me. I like being able to put 16 tanks on a shelve vs three our four.You can only rearrange so much,Right? A few weeks back I pulled six aircraft downed from the ceiling and put them on shelves to make room for some of the new aircraft that I want. Now I'm trying to talk the wife out of her coffee table to use for the F-4 when it comes out

Thats what its all boiling down to is room issues and nothing more. I dont like to pack stuff away if I dont have to and I think that packing away a Mustang is just not good for me. I would rather sell it and know that someone else is enjoying it rather then to pack it away.
