Small Scale Military Headquarters

Did they ever make a 1/18 of the Airworlf helo from the TV series as they did with Blue Thunder? I have the 1/24th version Ertl did but can't remember if they did one that held a 3 3/4 action figure or not...

I have never seen one, but that doesn't mean that there isn't one. I know there were A-team figure in 1:18th scale in the 80s. I'm a helicopter nut, and I would like to have one it they are out there.

No, Airwolf was never made in 1:18. Believe me, I would know. My younger brother was absolutely obsessed with Stringfellow Hawk. He definately would of had it if it existed...........

You might be wrong, Teamski! I did a quick search on ebay for "Airwolf" and came across this RC Airwolf Helicopter that seems to be quite large, perhaps approaching 1:18! The seller says the box measures 30" X 10" X 10".

it's a steal at the price it's going for on ebay. Looks ok in size for 1/18...probably a bit small. The real Bell 222 is 42 feet long including rotor (i think) so a fuselage of probably 37 feet or so....which translates to 24-25 inches in 1/18. Close. They also make a conventional Bell 222 r/c helicopter as well as their 'Airwolf' version.

I have a hummingbird helo with out the Airwolf lexan body. I would guess it is about half the size of the Apache.

I don't know about the first three pictures that aferguson posted, but the third is too small. If you think about it an Airwolf in 1:18th scale would be about the same as XD Huey in size. I think a little longer, but over all close. The length of a Huey is 45 to 48 (rotor tip to tail) depending on the model. And the Bell 222 is just under 51 from rotor tip to tail. With that the one that the lady is holding is small, even if her hands are the size of my wife's. It looks like it might be 1/25th scale or arould that.

If you don't know the Airwolf was a modified Bell 222. It had fake jet engines, cannons, and chain guns, but I don't think the size was changed for the show. An other fact is that some of the complicated maneuvers during the show were done by R/C versions of the helicopter.
