Has anyone bought, seen, or tried one of these electric R/C Planes. I just bought one off of ebay for $100.00 and can't wait for it to get to my door. I got the FW-190.

Here is the website.

The paint scheme is nicely done. Although, I wish that they had landing gear, drop tanks and guns, and a 3 bladed prop. Maybe some customizing might help.

There's a small hobby shop in my town that sells these same planes. I can personally vouch that the P-51 and FW-190 look pretty good in person! Certainly not XD quality, but pretty good for a $100 RC model 8)

I bought the P-51 and it looks nice...Bought it for $200, and the guy told me that it was for beginners and easy to fly...So i put it together, read the manual from cover to cover, charged the sucker up...Then I waited for a calm day, with no wind...Took it to a huge field close to my house, darn thing lasted in the air 15 seconds before I crashed it...Then I took it to repair, the guy charged my $50 to fix it...Then I found out that I could have done it at home for $4 myself...So along came attempt number two...The second launch was shorter than the first, about 10 seconds...Fixed it again and now the thing sits and collects dust...Then again I have never flown RC's before so not sure whether it was me or the plane itself....
Let us all know how it goes for you, if it flies...Maybe I'll dust mine off...

Well, I pranged it a good 4 times. Once, it hit the top of the tree, and then it hit every branch on the way down. I had a hard time remembering that left and right are reversed when it is pointing at you. But, it kept going. I highly endorse it. But, I suggest buying a trainer first and then getting into fighters.

they look to be about 1/12 scale.

Flying Styro also makes warbirds of this size. Very nice models and good selection too, including a Yak 9, Me-110..

I've had the P-51 for quite a while but haven't had a chance to fly it yet. As far as detail goes it's nice for a foam model but not anywhere near 1/18 static displays, you would have to get the flying styro kits if you want to come close to those. I have a few of the flying styro kits and they are much nicer looking, especially the B-25. If you plan to fly it, and you should, I would recommend using the "A" mode until you get the hang of it. Low wing aircraft are not the best choice to learn on, especially warbirds, but I say give it a shot. Or if you want, just pick up an inexpensive high wing trainer and play around with that for a while to gain some confidence.
