Admiral toys F-86 - Worth getting?
Other than the figure, the F-86 from AT is the better of the two companies IMO. As far as quality, the landing gear is kind of weak like most planes from both 21C and AT. The paint scheme has the true yellow stripes on the AT version as well. The Huff from 21C is nice looking as well. There is a post on the comparrisons between the two companies planes called 21C F-86 vs. AT F-86, I believe. Do a search on it. I hoped that this helped a little bit.
I’m on the other side when it comes to the F-86. I like the 21C version much better. I know there both different models but the detail on the Huff is far superior in my opinion. The intake is deep and you can see all the way in where as the AT version only goes in an inch or less. Same with the engine exhaust. Also, the 21C version has a steerable nose gear. It has other nice options as well. I owned an AT F-86 and enjoyed it for a while but the 21C version is the best in my book. Also, this was Admirals first plane. There ME-262 is top notch.

I did a long comparison of the 21st and Admiral Sabres on the forum awhile back. I like the Admiral Sabre. The German CL-13 has some of the nicest paint work I have seen on any model. And the upcoming Hartmann Sabre looks very nice also.

I like both of them because each has thier own strong points. The 21st one has better detailing, while the Admiral one is better painted and looks less toy like. I own both because they seem to complement each other.

The one thing your going to notice is that the box and getting out of it is so much better than the other boxes...Great detail and very sturdy aircraft...Hope this helps you out, I have all except the all silver version in my collection...If happen to run across a Patricia II they only made 500 of them, so buy it...

I have both, and I like both of them. I just recently got the 21C F-86 (Thanks to Fierodude!) and as stupid as it sounds, my favorite thing about the 21C offering is the engineering of the nose gear door. When you extend the nose wheel, the front door drops and folds just like the real one. Retract the nose wheel and the door opens back up and blends seamlessly into the fuselage.
The 21C version just seems to have a more accurate look to it. Its shape really captures the lines of the F-86.
I give the nod to the 21C F-86. However, you really can't go wrong with either.
Just buy the AT F-86, you won't regret it.

I have both the AT F-86 and the 21c F-86. I would say that the Admiral Toys version wins on the quality of the paintscheme, the panel detailing, and overall sculpting. The 21c version wins on other factors: greater functionality (notably the gun bays) better cockpit detail, accurate landing gear, and the deep intakes. AT currently has the lead as far as diversity of paintschemes, with the "Jolley Roger," "Patricia II," "Luftwaffe," and soon-to-be "Hartman" paintschemes. 21c has thus far only released the "Mitch's Squitch" and "The Huff" schemes, with "Mig Mad Mavis" planed for some unknown release date. I am sure there will be further repaints of the 21c F-86 beyond those three, however
Both planes really ballance out each other - sort of like the BBI P-51 and 21c retooled P-51. Further, the AT F-86 represents the earlier E model, with the leading-edge flaps (spoilers) while the 21c represents the later F model with the hard wings. You can thus get both, as each technically represents a different model of the F-86

I as well have both and I can say that AT is a much better product as a WHOLE. Let me explain. The detail of the plane is great and yes you can pick at one detail compared to another but what really won me over is AT commitment to quality and service!
When I bought my Sabre, I got the chance to pick it up at their warehouse. Since in the past they had problems with quality issues coming from China they hand inspected the Jolly Roger Sabre and if they felt it was not up to specs then they would then move onto another box and conduct a check all over again until I got a great Sabre. I ask if they did this for all of the products they shipped and got an immediate 'yes, we want to make sure that we are putting the best out there all the time' now one can say, just because I was there but I got an over all feeling that they are truly committed to ensuring that we as consumers/collectors are getting great service for a good product.
There are a lot of posted threads here on personal dealing with AT that speak for themselves.

I must agree there. They have great service. They really went the extra mile for me on my bad ME-262. Also, even though I don’t display my Admiral F-86 anymore, my 4 year old son just loves it and he has yet to break it. That should tell you how well it’s made.
*Whispers* But I still like the Huff better.

I too agree about AT's customer service and commitment to the hobby. They have set the standard in that regard and should commended. Who else gives you an inside view into the toy industry like Jason. Who else listens to the collectors like Jason. I feel he and AT have gone way beyond what anyone should expect of a toy company. Bravo!
I think some of the minor inaccuracies on the AT F-86 are due to the fact that this was the companys very first release. I feel that with each new release though, AT is moving closer to near perfection. The other companys should be concerned.
