Does anyone else wish that the 1/18 companys would publish a list of intended paint schemes ? There have been several times that I have gotten a new piece, only to have one come out later that had a paint scheme that I wanted more

I know alot of you buy most of the repaints
of an item that you like, but I don't have the room or the funds for that anymore

And with the Wal- Mart deal a lot of times if you see the type aircraft you want you best get it, cause you may not see it again.

Sounds good but not always practical.
One, they want you buying, not waiting.
Two, with duplicate planes the companies can be scooped on schemes (see Bunker Hill Corsair).
Three, people would grow mad waiting for their favorite scheme which may be delayed - or perhaps cancelled! Then you will have missed the first with no chance of what you were waiting for. Then what? Someone who was waiting for the Bavarian 104 (which got skipped it seems) would be mad if that is why they passed on the S1.
On the other hand, 21C did show 3 F-86 and MiG schemes way ahead of time and did allow people to wait for the one they wanted, but in general I think that practice will not be the norm. Just look at the Bunker Hill Avenger, shown in advance and now people are clamoring, upset it is not set for pre-order...

It is all the master plan. If they kick all of the paint schemes all at once people will hold back to get there favorites. As manufacters this would be like shooting yourself in the foot. They want us to buy all that they put out there . No picking and chooseing.

possibly one reason so many atlantic schemes sat - everyone was waiting for a) the next scheme and B) for them to go on clearance
I was asking a manager two night ago when 6 of the 190s would go on sell as they have been sitting since 2005 - when I started into XD.
She stated home office tells us when to place them on sale - I explained that they had been clearanced out at all the other WMs last year- this store actually only received three Avengers - after Christmas - they went right to the clearance aisle.
The customer who buys XD is smart - we/they know it will go on clearance so it sits, collects WM dust....
I think I made these same comments over a year ago on this forum - nothing changes - over a year ago we all were also worrying about the end of XD - then boom we got flooded with new stuff - 2006-2007 best XD years yet -

I know that in some cases in the past 21st has actually switched direction on a planned but still un-announced scheme. This flexability and general fan reaction to early schemes will often times shape the schemes that will come.
Digger and others have pointed out some other points as well but frankly in most cases 21st will only have 2-3 schemes picked for sure at one time. There will always be some exceptions but they do remain exceptions and not the general rule.

RE: the Atlantic paint schemes ( Avenger) if walmart had sent some of them to the EAST coast they might have sold more.
