Future 1/18 vehicles

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Mon Mar 19, 2007 9:20 am

These few shots of 1/1 vehicles would be great in 1/18:

M-4 Hish Speed Tractor: (to pull our new Long Tom-----I hope, soon)
Image
M-5 Stuart (with quad 40mm M-19 in background)
Image
T-34/85
Image
M3A1 Scout Car: (with fat old guy crowding a good pic)
Image
Chevy 1 1/2 ton Cargo Truck (with little TTT3 posing.....handsome isn't he?)
Image

We need these vehicles.

Nice pics TTT, I am surprised that we do not have a M-5 and T-34 yet. I personally want a Troop/Cargo Carrier Truck.

That's a T-34/76. And yes, we need that badly in 1/18!

It seems insulting that all these German armor is bullying our lone weetle Sherman.

Note to 21st and other toy/model manufacturer:

Germany lost.

And lost badly.

So how about releasing some toy/models of the tanks/vehicles that the winning side used? :D

Goodly:

How right you are but maybe they don't know that.

My 1/6 toys and dollies have the same problem in spades. DML releases one Allied figure for every 20 Axis figures and if it wasn't for 21C, we'd have almost none of the Allied vehicles in 1/6.

Good on 21C..........and now they shut down 1/6.........

Sorry about the T-34....you are correct.

I have zero interest in Russian armor but the high speed tractor is very nice. 8)

So, speking of new vehicles, are we ever going to see the Pak40 Halftrack or was it sucked into some sort of 1:18 scale black hole??

Based on how fast my local WallyWorld is divesting themselves from 1/18 stuff, 21c may have decided it's not worth actually making the PakWagon available.

A T-34 is at the top of my list followed closely by a duece and a half.

I think are right. I haven't seen any kind of 1:18 vehicle at any of my 5 local WM since Christmas time. Also all the figure pegs have been empty for months.

The 32x stuff on the other hand is always well stocked with new stuff coming in all the time. I've picked up a few items and while not as cool as XD, at least you can find and buy them. Like you said it surely appears WM is divesting themselves from 1:18.

we keep forgetting - Winter early spring tends to be very slow - XD wise every year...

Here in Atlanta - the stores that had little now are on third restock of Dday and tankers - you buy them up they reorder -
I also saw more XD this Christmas and winter than the last two years together - WM is not phasing out - up to each store how much they order -

Also - I am not seeing as much 1:32 as I did two years ago - when they could give the stuff away.

21st would be smart if they times new armor/vehicles with the new GiJoe figures - lower the price a bit and watch the kids eat it up.

if only they had the ability to advertise or cartoon network

Well WM in general might not be phasing out XD out but my local stores sure are trying hard to make it seem like they are.

On that note, the Sheriffs chopper is buzzing around my neighboorhood yet again. They busted a guy here with 2.8 million in coke and 800 grand in cash yesterday. I'm so glad that so many wonderful people are moving to Central Florida!

Thank goodness for my Remington security system!

I still hope for an M35. The deuce is one of the most iconic vehicles of the US Army. In service from 1952 through today it would cover a broad range and give several paint options. Standard solid OD green thru Vietnam. Merdec 4 color camo of the 70's, modern 3 color Nato camo, and desert tan. I would buy a fleet of them if they made them.

I have zero interest in Russian armor
Just the opposite here. Considering that the Red Army played a major role in the defeat of Nazi Germany I think some Russian armor is both neccessary to a well balanced WWII armor collection and long overdue in 1/18th scale. On the other hand it seems unlikely we will see any from 21C anytime soon, apparently the Russian stuff doesn't sell well. :?

Don't get me wrong, I have interest in the technical and historical importance of Russian armor. I just don't like the looks of the T-34 enough to buy a model of it. An IS2 I would buy but I suppose that is not well known enough to merit a 1:18 model. I should have specified the T-34 and not just "Russian armor."

I'm with you on the IS2, it would make an AWESOME 1/18th model IMO. It's probably a moot point in any case, it's unlikely we will see ANY Russian armor from 21C in the near future.
