I recently saw a Boyington Corsair listed on 3000toys.com as an 07 release. Unless this is just an old ad could they possibally know something we don't?

Ya those were supposed to come out but something happened. They were supposed to have a more accurate paint scheme along with ground crew and a close likeness of the pilot. Then nothing. I dont know if 21st closed the door on the idea or not, I havent heard or seen anything. The only thing I liked about the idea was the ground crew figs which I hope someday either 21st, BBI or Admiral will come out with seperatley because I could sure use a few.

I'm sure they're still slated to be produced, just with all other things considered, I would keep them on the back burner if I was 21c. I'd much rather see the ME-262s, B-25, King Tiger, and 88mm gun come out before a re-release of the Boyington Corsiar, new figures or not.
Incidentally enough, one of the crew figures that comes with the Avenger looks alot like Boyington and may have been the head-sculpt intended for the "Legends" figure, only that it has been sidetracked to the Avenger crew. I removed the head from that particular figure and put it on the "Boyington" version of the Corsair pilot figure so as to produce a figure with that aviator's general likeness

Sure does tman, I bet it is the same head sculpt!! As for me, I'll take anything 1/18 that comes down the pike, repaint, new, don't care. The sig series Corsair would basically only put them out the new box, some crew figs (something we shoulda had by now anyway) and the head sculpt so I say bring it on now!
