Yeah, this will be interesting to watch.. Image

I don't think that this is the rarest release ever though. I believe that title goes to Sweet Arlene.

$425 seems high, but one never knows what to expect on EBAY.

I guess the question is: how well publicized was the initial contest? The only place I remember seeing it mentiioned was 21st's website and here. I am sure it was on a few other forums, too. It should be interesting--ebay has a knack for creating exorbitant prices on some items and leaving others very undervalued. I will say this, though: if everyone here throws it in their watched items list, the seller will probably think it will be the bidding frenzy of the decade. "75 watchers! Wow!"

You know what's going through my mind?? Is this mine...

Could someone please tell me what exactly is on the COAs for these. I find it nice that the person who is selling this managed to put "Support Our Troops, United States" for the location.

Is there anyone willing to help me smoke this one out?

Oh yeah, as for numbers on this one...if you paid real close attention to things that were said in various places, the run on these was somewhere around 200.

Let me put your mind at ease PN, that plane happens to belong to my son and he got it by the book, sorry. We participated together in the contest, as a matter of fact as I'm the only one that is a member of any kind of collector's forum, if it weren't for me he'd never known of it. Surprised to see it listed already as he was only thinking of selling it last time I knew. Oh well, don't recall a "can't sell" clause in the deal. How he's 'selling' his soul I don't know, wants to sell it so is selling it, period. When started talking of selling I knew would start a thread here, as it should. I too am curious how much it brings, if it sells that is. If it don't sell I can assure you where it will end up though  . The thread is good but lets keep the paranoia and any potential inflammatory suggestions or remarks as to why someone is selling something like this to a minimum, please. thnx BTW, the "Support Our Troops" thing, is because of me, has had it there ever since I was over there, Iraq that is.

I thought the Spinach Camo Me-109 was the rarest?
There was the one (or so) of a kind mustang from CC with the 21C code which I guess would be the most rare (along with the accidently shipped desert 109). The Spinach 109 just went for about $70 plus shipping mint but loose on ebay.

As for this TT P-51, I hope your son makes a killing vmf214, why not..

VMF214: I have a bunch of respect for you stepping up and giving the straight scoop!! There is no "can't sell clause" that I am aware of, and I have no problem that your son is going to sell his. He came by it honestly, so he can do what he wants! Please convey to your son that my message sent through eBay was not a threat, I was just looking for information.

My fear is that the one I was supposed to get will end up on eBay, which would make me very angry. In that case, someone would be trying to profit from a mistake made by UPS with property that does not rightfully belong to them. Its the old, if you found a wallet with a drivers license and $425 in it trick.

Thanks Digger, got me curious as hell that's for sure. As for Sweet Arlene, that one doesn't qualify as a "release" nor does the desert 109 that escaped 21st's hands some years ago. They were never produced for mass production and "release" to the general public or a particular customer base as with the TT Mustang. The "one of's" etc. are just that. :D

No sweat PN, just didn't want you racking your brain about it. I'd be freakin' out too if it were me.

Agree, thanks for stepping up and I also hope it goes for a mint. :D

The Sweet Arlene thing could go way off topic a bit so I created a new "Rarest Mustang" thread here:

To see one of the Tender Terrors up for auction is no surprise to me. I knew it was gonna happen and I'm going to be very interested to see what the final price will be.

For vmf214,

Your son has the right to sell his Mustang and I hope he makes a killing on it.

I have had a couple of offers to sell my Tender Terror and the money offered was tempting but I "Dont Have A Price" as they say in this world. This Mustang means alot to me for alot of reaseons.

VMF214, Good luck with it. I think that you son is showing some great judgement by selling this. Why sit on something that you will probably get a small mint for. This will be interesting!!!!!

Finally got the dope on the reserve, $400. Aferg was close. Is it worth it...I myself live by the premise that anything is worth what you can get for it. I hope it sells but I also hope it doesn't, have mixed emotions about it, I mean a 2nd one in the family is kinda neat, but we'll have to see. Neat thing is we both also won those Red 3 panels, that of which is keeping. I honestly don't know if it's been out long enough to bring a whole lot, like said, just have to see. TKO did call it though, said awhile back the guestimated value was at least $250, and it's there already so thats cool.
