Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me how much to deduct for items without a box,
that have been on display since they were bought? All 1/18 armor and trucks some are the S-1 items. I know that boxes affect the price .
Thanks

It's really whatever price the market will offer..
Best bet might be to research completed items on e-bay. Then line up whatever you have and that should give you a fair estimate of the current value of certain things boxed or not.
The prices vary widely and there isn't a consistent percentage that could be applied to all items due to the original production run numbers, overall popularity, and whether or not there were re-releases or additional paint schemes.

I would say that no box will reduce the price by a third. Probably the same if you do not use pay-pal as a seller. ( On e-bay of course)

I have always got better deals if the seller dose not use it

Thanks
Is my thinking correct that S-1 is the first of a vehicle or aircraft before the repaints start ? Also how many years has 21st been on the 1/18 scene.

I think they came out in the 90's

If I'm not mistaken, 21st started selling their 1/18th products in 2000. The panther and sherman tanks were the first offerings. S1 is the designation for the first model of a series.

TKO and Aferguson will know when they first came. The first time I saw anything in 1-18 was at Toys R Us and I think it was a Tiger at the time I looked at it and put it down.

A few years later I got hooked on them

The initial vehicles came out in 2000. They were:
Lou IV P-51
"White 12" BF-109
OD Sherman
2 Color Panther
Jeep
Kubelwagen
S-1 German Figures
S-1 American Figures
As mentioned above, value is what value gets.

If I want a model bad enough to complete my collection, I'll easily pay the mib price for an out of box model. Just think, my 21C Kubelwagen is one of the most expensive pieces yet. It came without a box.

Personally, I think if you're offering to the group that you can ask what you paid for it... That's how things work on the reputable Star Wars boards. The same doesn't apply to vintage obviously and there's some leeway with items out of production as well (but not much). The purpose of the communities at large is to help each other out though, not profit, and also allow you not to take a loss unless that's what's required to sell the item and you're ok with that...
To me the MIB price is fair for things you opened so long as they're complete and in good condition (IE: Nothing broken, nothing missing).
As I noted though, that's how the boards I visit are run due to the boards being in place to help, not hurt the collecting community at large.

yeah - I remember an instant hook on the figures - I bought a ton at first - then got sidetracked with starwars...sigh
I also put down the Tiger or Panther - can't remember - thinking man thats a ton of money - I ended up getting a tiger years later at half that price - come to think of it I only remember seeing one or two tanks at TRU - they did not keep much stock....

Thanks Again
I'm hoping to get rid of the armor and wheeled vehicles that I have and get back into just aviation. Although I joined the board in 2004,I have not been active for a six months period so I don't think I can put the stuff on here for sale. I'm not set up to sell on ebay. As far as the boxes go I just don't have room to keep them plus I never bought anything with the intension of reselling it. I had hoped to find someone local who could come by and look at what I have .That way they know what they are buying.
