Question about 1:16 vs 1:18

Hello all. My question is, how much of a size difference is there between 1:18 & 1:16? I've been looking at maybe buying some of those 1:16 guys from Badcat, but I would only want them if there wasn't a big difference from x/d. 1:18 is about 4" so how about 1:16? Maybe 4 1/2? I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question,

but I'm just curious. Thanks.

The size difference is 11%. In human terms that's the difference between a 6 foot tall man and a 6 foot 8 man. It's a bigger difference than between 1/32 and 1/35. Very noticable with figures.
Vehicles you can sorta get away with, but the size difference between two of the same vehicle in each scale would be quite noticable.

Crewed weapons work out pretty well and since there are few if any in 1:18..
I did this mortar a while back and was very happy with the results. Mortar is 1:16 aka 120mm, crew is 1:18.

Aferg is right in that the vehicles sitting next to each other generally don't work well. There are some exceptions like a Pershing which was supposed to be large anyway. The Ford Truck Krieglok did turned out great and the figures fit too! Something not even the 1:18 vehicles can always claim.

Also, some of the Verlinden printed products like the MREs and C-Rations (that are 120mm or 1/16 scale) don't look too bad out of scale, IMHO.
