Development work has been well underway for a new look and feel to the 21st Century Toys web site! AREA-21 will remain the same and operate exacly as it has been for the last couple years. What you will notice right off the bat is a better more concentrated focus on the products that are currently offered. Also fans can reference a scale chart to help show the differences in scales as well as a breakdown of the various brands with the parent lines. Please understand that some areas are still being updated with new information in the next couple weeks. The new site is scheduled to launch later tonight and the update / publish time may vary slightly. I have personally been very involved in this project in an effort to provide an improved user experience. Like I said earler AREA-21 is not changing. Only the main 21st Century Toys site is all new!
With that said the Toy Fair coverage begins tomorrow on AREA-21 so be sure to refresh your screens in the early afternnon tomorrow as we plan to bring you coverage of the 21st Century Toys booth from New York City, USA! I know 21st has a couple new items in store.

That's great news TKO.. Clearly they've seen the light and understand that the web can have a very positive impact on how their customers interact with them as a company..
Never can tell how many people buy one item, wonder what else they make, check out the website and end up addicts like us! er... I mean.. like you guys!

What with all the new releases forthcoming and the redesign of the 21st website, 2007 is shaping up as a breakout year.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!!!!What's up with that, TKO? I know 21st have a prototype from a few years back - are we finally going to be seeing it?

You guys have some very sharp eyes. Indeed you have spotted a desert Kubel in the background of that photo. Now for the bad news.
It's mine. I painted it as a custom about 2 months ago. It has some a little extra stuff added to it. I had to compromise on the fact that the tires are the same as the original but it looks good enough for me. I will have to see if one of you giys would like to post pics of it for me here. I can't do it thru AREA-21 cuz it really isn't a real product. Just makes for a good background.

Ok so its yours, but it would not have surprised me if 21st released one, as i remember a true photo of a tan kublewagen with a plastic covering for a canvas roof that 21st displayed back in around 2002. Now that there are dak figures you would think it would be easy & inexpensive for them to re-issue of the old grey kublewagen in tan.

I understand the mold was lost in a fire, that pretty much means starting from scratch. we'd like to see it.

TKO, I have one too!

If you are careful, it's pretty straightforward to paint the gray one with DAK colors and it looks good too. If you need a place to post a pic for it, send it my way.
I've been meaning to post mine, but haven't applied the new DAK decals I got from Johns to it yet.
Here is the original prototype DAK Kubel from 21st Century. The big bonus was that it also came with the canvas top fully deployed.. Now that would be a real treat!
