My personal plea

I know I have said this time and again but would one of the big three PLEASE produce a P-39 in 1:18 scale. If it's possible to make a skyraider (I will order one) and a Dauntless (I ordered two :D ) then there has to be a market for the P-39. It is flat out one of the sharpest looking warbirds produced during WWII and considering what the Russians did with it, very historically relevant as well. Forget about Bell deciding to put a single stage supercharger on it, therefore limiting its high altitude performance, how can you not love a fighter plane with an engine mounted behind the pilot and a 37 mm cannon that fired through the center of the propeller hub. Imagine the level of detail this model could have, it could truly show what any of the big three are capable of. There are literally hundreds of interesting paint schemes to choose from so it could have a long life. Below is my favorite scheme, my dad painted an R/C Top-Flight P-39 in this scheme when I was a kid and it stuck with me. Alright, I'm done.

I second your plea. With its tricycle landing gear, rear mounted V-12 engine, and cannon firing through the spinner, the P-39 is about as cool as a WW2 fighter gets. What a great looking model that would be. You could have the cockpit door that opens, and a removable panel to expose the Allison V-12. Please somone make this model! :D :D :D

As a boy from Buffalo who passed the Bell plant on numberous occasions, I too appreciate this aircraft. It has the deco streamlined look that sells to the masses. And, its history as a CAS platform is very appealing.

Agreed! A P-39 in 1/18 would be great. I am dying for the FOV one in 1/32nd.

This little airplane might actually get me to step back into 1/32 scale(just this once  ). It's a sure bet in 1/18th.

This would be an excellent choice for the big 3 companies. It would go well with what we already have.

I am going to get the 1:32 version and I would surely get the 1:18. 8) I think the P-39 was one of the first models I ever made as well. I know my very first was a Devestator that I totally botched up.

I'll join the parade. The P-39 would be great in 1/18. It would be one of the very few planes I would buy. :P

Did you guys see the new Forces of Valor 1:32nd scale P-39Q on the Bad Cat website? It looks nice. I got excited there for a second when I thought it was a 1:18th scale model.
