Shame they won't be releasing it as a "do-it-yourself" though - It'd make up for my almost completely non-existant scratchbuilding skills! They wouldn't even need to worry about me making it look a mess either - I'd use the bits for other projects, but I couldn't bring myself to destroy, sorry "scavenge" such a nice model...

Most likey at Toy Fair. That is my guess! As far as full production? Hard to say. All I know is that it is REALLY close. That plane shown on the hyperscale site is in production plastic! And I know for a fact that there is little or no tweeks left to do on it. Roy says that both of the 262's are just drop dead beautiful projects with the best fit and finish he has ever seen.

That 2 seater looks KILLER! I already know a couple of the schemes for both! Wait till you see em. They are spooky cool!

The new ME262s sound awesome. I am looking forward to them.

The 262 in general doesn't appeal to me at all but I will give 21st credit for what looks to be a great model. Hopefully they will make good money off of this and use it to create new armor!

I'm quite happy with my AT ME-262, as far as the standard variant of that plane is concerned. I'll deffinitely be down for one of 21c's night-fighter versions, however

I can't wait for the 21st. 262 This was the first plane that I ever built when I was a kid. I think that it was a Revelle kit. That was about 38 years ago I have 2 of the AT 262's and the paint looks good . I have to say that the S2 At 262 looks a little blah but that will not stop me from getting one. Hey Jason can you do a better paint scheme?
Anyway I will get all of the versions OF THE 262 that 21st will put out. COUNT ME IN

I agree. I support Admiral 100%, so I will be buying the new 262 paint scheme, however, it is one of the most plain (no pun intended )
and unexciting schemes I have seen. Jason, can you tell us the motivation behind this scheme, I'm sure it must have a great history.

I am going to get all of the versions of 21st Me 262. Maybe 2 of each like I normaly do. Are you? If I find them at Wal-Mart on sale I will try to get even more. After they have been out a while. I usualy keep one in the box have a extra one to play with and if I get luckyand get some on sale keep these in reserve for customs.

I will buy one of each.... I can't afford more than that and room constraints won't allow it either.. I was going to get an AT Me-262, but the cost + shipping pretty much nixed that idea..

I got the impression from the article that it will be a do it yourself too.

Mike Braun, who wrote the review, says he will be building and detailing one for the Orange County IPMS Nationals but the later comment leads me to think he's a very lucky person indeed. The jammy beggar.

The only downside to a kit that size is that over here in the UK, "large" scale kits cost more than the few BBI/C21 offerings available... the most expensive bird I've bought so far was the F16, and that was cheaper than the 1/24th-scale Harrier from Airfix... which is an unbuilt kit!

Mind you, if I had room in the suitcase at the end of my hols Stateside, I could practically empty the Orlando area WalMarts of C21 stuff and still save over the cost of a brace of warbirds back here... unfortunately my wife insists on bringing clothes and stuff home, and it's more expensive to ship it (since the Revenue get to decide how much tax should be added when the stuff arrives...) so that's a no-go

Agree and I think it's a smart move to kick off their entry into the 1:18 model building world. Solid and popular aircraft, lots of paint scheme opportunities and I'm guessing the price point will be well underneath traditional models (and the painted assembled version) just like the 1:32 model offerings have been so far.

Ah, but it doesn't say they won't be in kit form. After all, if they tooled it up in kit form for the review, it would stand to reason it would be offered like that..otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to even review it like that..imo.
Oh, and you can guarantee it will be cheaper than comparable 1/24 kits, let alone 1/18..

it wouldn't surprise me if they did 1/18 kits if the 1/32 scale kits sell well..
