"Daisy June" Corsair seen out at Toys R Us out in Lynnwood, Wa.
Pretty nice colorway, it has the block bordered "I" Logo on the Tail, #82 on the Fuselage. Listed at $39.00 They are still selling the VMF115 one for 44.00.

I am going to look today. So far NOTHING has shone up in the N. O. area NOTHING. Except figures. No P-51s no Corsairs nothing . When T R Us switched from 21st to BBI it was a sad day down here. I guess they are scared of getiing looted when huricane season comes around.

All my local TRU has the Old Crow only. They haven't really stocked much of anything else.

All I did was a Google search: "1/18 scale F4U Daisy June"....the first link was the one I pasted...the others were either soso or not at all info.
Thanks for the complement

Is this a historic scheme? I'm not interested in modern air show stuff.

As a note to anyone looking for info on bbi's stuff, Merit International is usually a good place to start, even though they don't sell to the public-just to retailers. They also have info a variety of other things, including Witty Wings, 1/6 collector's figures (such as Dust and bbi's Dark Desires), and one incredible looking 1/35 Dora model. I use them to keep up with bbi's upcoming releases, since they seem to stay a year or 2 ahead of bbi's own website

Wonder if the paintjob is as craptastic as my VMF115.

My TRU just got them. But I passed it up for the new little bird.

Why do they keep calling this the birdcage version? Or am I messed up on my own nomenclature?

Chunks,
No, you are not messed up at all.....the above link's picture does NOT exhibit a "bird cage", but the following link will-it is a thumbnail and thus expandable.

Thanks, sometimes it's worth questioning my own memory.

I'd be all over that F4U-1, birdcage or not.

I like the color scheme but I will pass, even though I did say I was gonna get one. Marines Dream is fine for me and all I want as far as the F4U is concerned. I'm gonna get the 21st 1/32nd versions though.

Nice colors but I never liked the earlier "birdcage" framed canopy so count me out.

Hmm, well that would probably change my mind then.

This does not appear to be an airshow scheme - the plane was one of six F4Us to fly off the USS Block Island - a baby carrier.
This group is said to be the first group of marines to fly off a carrier.

Great news, thanks. I'll retire "Marines Dream" to work when It's replaced. 'ppreciate it much.

US Marines VMF-511, USS Block Island

Best of the bbi bunch by far. Very cool scheme imo.

Unfortunately, my TRU will never carry the plane. I really hate my store....

I did find one "Daisy June" and a couple new L.B.'s at my AO TRU. If I find anymore, I will gladly pick extras up for members. BBI @ TRU is a constant in my area unlike W.M. and the 21st stuff. The hunt is still on for "The Huff".

Interesting parallel (probably unintentional) that the Atlantic Avenger also was from the Block Island (CVE-21) and this Corsair from the Block Island (CVE-106) in the Pacific. CVE-21 was sunk by a sub in the Atlantic. Interesting story:
