Heavy duty snow Groomer...military application?

I was in a Zellers today (sorta like Target) and i saw a toy Groomer.

It looks like this, only a bit more toy like:

Anyway, it's about 12 scale feet wide, so about the right size for 1/18. My question is: is there any military application to a machine like this? I know they're used to groom ski hills at large resorts, plow roads etc. I was wondering if maybe the airforce used them to plow runways? Any military application at all?

According to this PDF, the process is called SNIC (Snow and Ice Control Equipment). Lots of cool images of various plows and tractors in use by the US military.

It took quite awhile to d/l when I looked at it and it stayed blank until it finished. Do you have a way to monitor if a download is occurring?

It showed mostly plows, attachments, and salt spreaders on wheeled vehicles from the WWII jeep through mogs to 5 & 8 ton trucks.

aferguson -

From your Zellers reference I must assume you to be in Canada somewhere. From here in the Detroit area it is fairly easy to slip over the border to Windsor. My question is " What has been available there recently?'
I used to find 21st Century stuff at TRU in Windsor, but don't believe they carry it any longer. Is WM Canada carrying the same stuff we get here? Does Zellers have anything military? What's the status generally?

the status generally is zero. Nothing at all. No 21c, no BBI, no Power Team, not even Chap Mei anymore.

Nothing, nada, zilch, zip.
